Commander barrel question.

Inside this barrel, there are a few chatter marks I assume. They are not rough, they are in 3 of the grooves. 2 or 3 marks in 2 grooves and 4 marks in 1 groove. They are not deep, barely visible....but visible.
Barrel is new manufacture. Accuracy doesn't seem sub standard, beyond my skill level anyway, comparable to other Colts I have.
Is this a frequent defect, junk it, shoot it?
Thanks, sorry about the bad pics!

230 grain jacketed RN that chronos at 850 fps out of several Governments and a S&W Government. I assume they would be very slightly less out of this shorter barrel.

I'll add that the intention would also be Hornady 230 grain XTP HP at the same velocity but none yet thru the barrel.

You say the barrel is new? I'd contact the manufacturer and show them pictures and ask for a replacemet without the marks. I personally wouldn't accept a barrel that looked like that.

My WC commander has the same thing. What little I shot it,it seemed ok. Bothers me a bit though. Would not expect that on a NM barrel. I like the gun so much I'd hate to send it back. Got to go to a more controlled range but not any time lately.

Yes, out of a new blue Commander. And that's the debate. Have no doubt they would replace it.

Which answers a question I hadn't asked yet, cause my WC also has the match barrel and I was thinking about seeing if they would upgrade during this replacement(if I send it back) to a NM. Seems it's a possibility with that also.
Hate to send them back, but the way gun shows are you can't always check them out as well as you'd like, with all the wire ties and crowd etc.

That is not a quality barrel.
BUT you might get one with a nice slick bore that did not feed well.

A bird in the hand, etc.

Put about 150 thru it Tuesday with no issue, which was nice. Not opposed to buying a barrel thru them or a 3rd party vendor and feeling good about the spare.
A choice to make, maybe I need another range trip first.
