I went back to update a thread, and found the 'EDIT' button has been removed ????

Is this something new ????

Apparently so, it's gone. ???

EDIT: It looks like it here but not on older posts, like 2 days old.

Just to be clear, you mean editing a thread, not a post, correct?

I believe the ability to edit a post goes away after a day or two.

You are correct. The edit feature now has a shelf life.

Since the shelf life is less than 24 hrs., is it until midnight of the post date or a fixed number of hours?

The edit feature is alive for one day from the time of posting.

Members still have the option to go back and edit their posts within a day of posting. If you need something changed at a later date ask a moderator or admin and we can edit the post for you.

I have asked to have edit enabled for one of my ads so I can add a picture with no moderator response. Frankly, how are we supposed to add pictures or additional descriptive details or lower a price if we can't edit an ad? I suppose you could add stuff using a bump post, but that is only permitted weekly.

Who did you ask?

Feel free to add a pic or lower the price, etc. even if it occurs within a week. It won't be considered a bump.

All this new proceedure in 'EDIT'ing threads and posts will have to be done by using the 'QUOTE' button and making corrections that way..... and ultimately using up a tremendous amount of bandwidth, for no credible reason that I can think of.

I don't see why the 'QUOTE' function would be required. Why not just post a normal reply with any additional info or comments?
