New Nitron, new to Sig group
Hi All,
I am the new owner of a Sig Nitron - blue, nightsights, and rail. I've been on the 1911 forum in the past, but I am new to the Sig group. I have previously owned a Kimber which I liked very much, but I chose the Sig over Kimber this time around for two reasons. 1) a close friend had problems with two Kimbers in a row - including a $1200+ Desert Warrior. 2) I wanted a rail and night sights, and the Sig was a couple hundred cheaper than the Kimbers. Furthermore, Kimbers with rails were mighty scarce at the Houston gunshow last week. My first trip to the range with the new Nitron was great. 100 rounds, no jams. The only problem I had was a failure to lock back on an empty mag using one of my old Chip McCormick mags. The Sig mags worked fine, as did my Wilson mag. I've been lurking and learning from all of you. I'd like to hear any input you have regarding Chim McCormick mags. Am I better off with Wilson, Sig, or can I get away with the cheaper mags? I'd also like to hear your thoughts on which defensive ammo your Sigs prefer. I've been using Hydrashocks for 20 years, but I understand there are newer, better choices available. See you on the high ground, Glenn |

Congrats! I also got a Nitron Rail last week. Haven't had any issues with 300 rounds so far.
I've been debating on getting additional mags and the Chip McCormicks are at the top of my list based on all the reviews. I got the Federal Hydra-Shoks 230gr because they still reviewed the highest along with Remington's Golden Sabers. I don't know of any newer, better choices but I'd like to see what anyone else has to say. Have fun!

Welcome to the club!
My personal preference is 230gr Federal HST. 230gr Speer Gold Dots would be my second choice.
