Para carry 12 ftf every other round

Can't believe this. This gun ran flawlessly the first 250 rds on the first day at the range. Second day=extractor broke.. Called para, they sent new egw extractor. Should fix the issue right? Go back to the range. They are extracting now! That is when they are actually not stovepiping/ftf/ftb which is almost EVERY round. This is horrible. I really like the size/asthetics of the gun and the feel/accuracy/recoil. Want this to be my carry but I can't trust it! Has anyone had any experience with this? What should I do?!? I got this about 3 weeks ago now and I'm already carrying my glock that I just baught instead
More reliable until this is fixed but it's full frame model 22 and huge! HELP!

Extractors are not always drop-in and may need adjustment.

Agreed.^^^^^^^^^^^^^

In fact... the EGW extractor is absolutely NOT a "drop in" it MUST be tuned.

If the OP didn't do that (or didn't do it correctly) it is no surprise the weapon is not functioning well. Any 1911 platformed pistol would have similar trouble.

I am really surprised that Para just sent you an extractor, they very often have to be fitted. Search around for the extractor tune and test and check yours.
The FTF FTB is often an extractor problem, if you have a LGS that you can trust you can ask him to test and tune the extractor.
I had identical problems with a too tight extractor, also the extractor may have a burr or be incorrectly shaped. Good luck.

EGW extractor will be perfect, they are top quality...but it needs to be tensioned just as any extractor (of same type) would be.

Having tuned by an expert gunsmith will put your Para back to 100% reliability. Bring your mags along so this can be checked as well. Paras are great but like most 1911s that have tight tolerances they need to be tuned if it fails after break-in

Thanks guys! I'm taking it back to the gun smith who installed it (also where I baught it). I don't feel like this should even have been an issue. I also called para this morning who said it was probably too tense as they put it as well. Thanks for the info! Seems as if the guy who put mine in was in a rush and didn't try to see if it was proper because I watched him and he didn't try any of the little tests to see if it's in right. Frustrating for sure but at least I know what's wrong now and I don't have to send the gun to para! I will post when it's fixed or if it's something else! Thanks again!

Either your Smith is complacent or just wants to increase customer visit, more visits more profit. I am lucky to have a smith shop with a testing area, that way chance of returnng for the same problem is slim since we get to test it right away
