Just wondering if?
just wondering if anyone knows of a website and something of such that i can enter make model and sn of a gun to get the year the gun was manufactured?

www.proofhouse.com covers some Brownongs,Colts and I think some Winchesters?I lost a few sites in a puter crash and can't remember them. Cool Gunsite I believe deals only with pre 70series Colts,but it's been a while since I've been there.

For the most part ull have to find a site dedicated to the maker. Then u might beable figure out that info from there. I found one for remington rands. It gave u a idea when the gun was made And difference between batches etc.
I know there's a way to go through the Feds and pay and get info on your gun. Not really sure what info you'll learn from that.

are you asking for a specific gun or just all guns in general?
ruger has a spot on their website to give you the year made. other companies will research it but usually they charge a fee. gun specific forums are also good the sks forum has alot on that platform. the internet s an amazing thing let your fingers do the walking.
