This is now the place to post about Walmart and ammo. Love it or hate it, we get a new thread about Walmart just about every day. I had been moving some of them to the Ammo Shortage sticky, but it's somewhat cluttered with all the merged threads. So, all Walmart posts will go here from now on.

Found ammo at Walmart? Post about it here. Didn't find any ammo at Walmart? Post about it here too.

I went to Walmart tonight. Went straight to the sporting good and there was a cart full of ammo. There was at least three large cardboard boxes full of WWB .45 FMJ at 29.96 per 100. I bought two boxes and left alot for the next guy.

There were at least 3 boxes of .38 special and 3-9mm. All appeared to be WWB Target ammo.

There was also at least one box of .40 S&W but I think I saw about 3 more large cardboard boxes of the .40.

Come get it if you need it.

Visiting San Antonio this week. WM has nothing. Cabelas in Buda had no primers, plenty of powder and ammo. Local shops had very little. One shop would only sell me 100 primers. J&G sales in Prescott Arizona has ammo for the AR'S & AK's

I've been checking my local WM here for months now, one or two time every couple of weeks, and haven't seen any handgun ammo yet. They always seem to have shotgun ammo though. So, what do you all think about buying online? Are there any good online sellers you'd recommend? I looked at sportsmanguide.com and they seem "reasonable"...

Wow. I wonder if I'm lucky that I'm deployed right now and missing out on this ammo shortage or not...well not so lucky...I've been making alot of orders off ammo to go, cheaper than dirt and cabela's online. 4-5 weeks on 45 acp. i'll have a little stockpile of ammo by the time i get back in december and then raid walmart...if they have any...

I went to a WM in College Station, TX and they had gotten 5 boxes of 100 round WWB in that morning. They told me there was a 2 box limit per person, but luckily I was able to talk the nice gentleman behind the counter into giving me 3. I'm pretty sure the other two boxes were gone before I had time to pay and leave the store.

Covington, LA

Picked up (2) 50 round boxes of Federal 45 ACP 230 gr FMJ RN for $14.97/box & (2) 50 round boxes of 9mm 115 gr FMJ at $10.97/box. That was all the 45 in stock and they only had 4 boxes of 9mm left. No 40 s&w and no 38 Spc. 1box of 44 mag.

They had a ton of Federal 22LR 550 value packs for $14.97 but didn't get any b/c I already have over 5K rounds of 22LR.

They also had several (over 70) boxes of Federal .223 FMJ 100 round boxes at (I believe) $39.XX/box. Not a bad price but can find .223 on-line for $28.50/ 100.

**** Six box limit here - can't believe limits are less elsewhere ****

I drove from Austin Texas to Springfield Missouri on Monday and stopped at numerous Wally's along the way.

I ended up getting 1500 rounds of Federal 230 FMJ (at 7 different stores) for 14.98 per box of 50 at each store. I also picked up 5 boxes of WWB (100 count) for 28.98 each.

First thing I did when I got to Springfield? Went shooting!! This ammo will not even last until the end of August. I plan on shooting a lot this month.

So I stop in at commie wallyworld for some jeans and decide to check out the ammo. I see 3 100 round boxes of federal FMJ in the locked case. There is a open shipping box full of ammo and live bait boxes in the walkway.
Nobody around of course. I go to the next dept. over and ask shaniqua to page the sporting goods person. Of course she never does. I call wally world on my cell and the dipstick who answers is dumber than a rock. No help there. I finally ask an employee where I can find the manager. Magic word I guess.
He escorts me back to the ammo area and finds a guy in the NEXT department (I reckon he was standing there watching me the whole time, while he joked with his buddies. When we get to the ammo counter there is a lady staring longingly at the ammo case. I think to myself, oh crap.
I asked her if she was looking for ammo, yep, for her husband. What caliber, .45? Yep.
She said "I know you were first in line, so...
I ended up taking one box. I figure we ain't gonna run out here in the USA.
I told her to tell her husband a Marine told him to have a nice day.
There was a crapload of .40 in the case and some 9sillymeter and .25ACP.
This was in the WW on Samuell Blved. in Dallas, Tx. 99% of the staff there ain't worth a spit.

$700 dollars short, 10 minutes late!!!!

Walked up to local Wal-Mart gun counter to pick up two boxes of .45 if available. Fellow there with buggy: commenced to buy everything they had in handgun ammo. Paid the clerk $981.41, and left happy. I got two boxes of .22 shorts to thin out the squirrels in my birdfeeder. I looked at his buggy, and then looked at my little boxes, and felt like I'd lost my manhood:biglaugh::biglaugh: Oh well, maybe next time!!!!!!

You know he's just going to take all of it to a gun show and sell it for double.

Believe me. Here in Phoenix, we're in a similar boat. No 9mm, no .40, no .45, no value boxes .22. I've got buddies in law enforcement, and when ammo is available at one, about 50 calls go out and it's a race to see who can get there to pick some up. It's ridiculous. I've been pacing myself, buying about 4 boxes any time I see them, but I'm starting to get dangerously low myself.....

I haven't shopped for ammo lately. I have more important things going on lately, like living my life. But if I saw some joker with a cart buying $1,000 worth of handgun ammo at Walmart, I'd be tempted to make a citizens arrest for public drunkeness. If not I'd be questioning and following him out of the store and to wherever he is taking it. If he wants to order $10,000 worth of ammo online, I don't really care. But idiots like that are hurting us all. And I'll make sure whoever he is trying to sell it to knows where and when he got it. And if he's hoarding WALMART ammo, he's just a plain idiot.

doctor1911, "this has been going on too long" is right.

Just visited the Walmart in Norwalk, CT. I usually buy online, but you all know there's almost nothing available there. I've only looked at this store twice but I haven't seen any handgun ammo and what they had was some shotgun shells for hunting, no .22 rimfire at all, some 30-06 and other hunting ammo like 7mm and 25-06. Nothing in great supply. As far as I can tell, the drought continues.

I know this is a Walmart thread, but I just stopped by a local Dicks (next to a Walmart) since I had a gift-card.

They had more ammo that I could shake a stick at. Well...except for 45ACP HP ammo. But they had tons of 9mm,45,40,5.56,38's.

I think it's breaking loose.

Regards,
Greyson
