Has any one shot any of the pulled HST bullets in 45 ACP from Rocky Mountain Reloading?
They look good and would like to try some for practice to compare to the HST carry ammo I carry.
Thanks.
No, I haven't shot those particular pulled JHP. But I've shot plenty of others. They shot perfectly well. Many had a ring where they were crimped but other than ugly it didn't affect anything. Occasionally I found pulled 45acp at 30 to 50 percent off regular price (but not HST).
If you want to load them for practice similar to your favorite Federal carry ammo, go ahead. At self defense practice distance, they'll shoot well.
Those HST at Rocky Mountain are $100 per 500, and $190 per thousand. That's not much of a bargain compared to other self defense hollow point (XTP, GD, Golden Saber, etc.) of same bullet weight. I just got some 230 grain XTP from Midway for $21.14 per hundred (but I had to pay shipping). How much you pay is a personal choice. Especially if Fed HST are difficult to find.
