Nighthawk ??

So I am outta town for business and visit a local gun shop. The owner has a brand new, though 2 years old, Nighthawk in the display case. He can't tell me the model and I don't know what model it is. He is asking $2799 for it. Now, I have always wanted a Nighthawk, but have never actually seen one in person until this one. I currently own an Ed Brown and a Wilson Combat. All I can tell you about the gun is it's a 5" gun and all black. Pretty sure there is nothing added to it, no special options. I'll try and get more info. My question is, is it worth the price or a little less? Thx.

If he's had it for 2 years, I'd offer him less and see if he takes it. He could probably use the money from the sale to get some inventory that will sell quicker, rather than have the money tied up in one firearm that just sits on the shelf.

+1. Any NEW Nighthawk for around $2500 is a pretty damn good deal. See if he'll come down. Get a model name. Checkering? Rear of slide serrated or checkered? Top of slide serrated? Checkering under trigger guard? Mag well? Mag well part of frame? Flush crowned barrel? Flush slide stop with chamfered frame? Give us more to work with!

How can the model be so impossible to determine? The store owner has no records? The gun doesn't have rollmarks? It's new but there's no case with papers? The LGS owner doesn't care enough about selling it to expend a bit of effort? Something here "doesn't compute."

A LGS/FFL who "can't tell a model # " and claims he doesn't know about a handgun he is selling would give me cause to be concerned about what is going on there. Very curious to say the least, especially regarding a new pistol in the +$2000 range. Most NHC pistols run in the price range he is asking (or more) and there have been price increases in the last 2 years. Were not talking about an old Jennings that likely has gone through 35 owners so I would look more into exactly what this pistol is and did the LGS purchase it from NHC directly.

I don't even own a Nighthawk, and I don't own a gunstore, but I could still tell you what the base model was for just about any NHC even with options added or removed...

But thats because I really really want a NHC so maybe thats not fair to say he "should" know

I think the comments were more directed towards the LGS owner "knowing".

Sorry that's was who I was trying to pertain to, but even then the LGS may not be fans of NHC either I don't know so I was really just rescinding my statement

I'm headed back there tomorrow. LGS says he has the build sheet and bag. I'll get that info and let y'all know. Thanks again for the opinions.
