The reason why i posted prices. Is that I will probably be getting something in NY state and just want to make sure that the prices are ok and that I don't get overcharged.

I trully understand it is far better for our economy to get american made.

I'm Thinking about Rugger and Colt and some others. But Remington seemed to get bad reviews I don't know why.

Colts are expensive. And Springfield's are nice but some of the parts made in Brazil for some of the models. I thing they look very good but everyone is giving Rugers great review.

Just based on availability I will keep options open.

In NY, If i would take the gun to the range I would need to transport it in plastic case because of the law's and since Cary permits are almost imposible to get it would have to be transported in the plastic case with a lock on it and pullets carried elsewhere but not in the same case as I was told. But this is just because I'm doing a home protection permit.

But otherwise I would not even be asking.

Do you like the Shield (9mm or 40?)?
My Shield is in 9MM and I do like it. The trigger is difference than my M&Ps', but that's a discussion for another forum so I'll leave it at that. I'm old enough to remember when all pistols came in cardboard boxes and it didn't bother me. It just surprised me.

I have 3 1911 .45's and I find the SR to be worth the price I paid. We have a Shield in 9mm and really like it and my wife carries it every day. We also have many other Rugers and find them all to be good handguns. I don't think you will have any second thoughts if you buy the SR1911.

Thanks Guys for all the replies.

Just going to take time. I have made research and The Ruger is the top choice for me.

And the fact that it is made in USA means quality and jobs.

If its going to be a price issue cumming up short I will consider the RIA tactical.

Just hope that NY state approves my license application.

Sincerely,
Roman.

Ruger makes a good, entry level, 1911. With the SR1911 you get a real steal when it comes to quality parts that are usually only offered on premium grade 1911s.

Due to my line of work I get to talk to a lot of the firearm industries reps and techs. I asked why they sold the SR1911 for so cheap, compared to other industry competitors, and they said, and I quote,"We were getting tired of hearing about Dan Wesson, Kimber, and Wilson Combat, so we decided to build a comparable product that the 'average joe' could afford."

And boy .. did they! I'd love to get my hands on one for my own personal collection, but don't see it happening too soon with the current shortage.

Not to 'let the cat out of the bag', but Ruger will be coming out with different variations of the SR1911 before too long. When I say 'before too long' I mean around Shot Show 2013. I hope they come out with a 4" Carry version of the same pistol. Now that I'd fight for !!!

I own a Remington now and Ruger will probably be my next one. I like the Remington fine but I like the look of the Rugers too.

I heard people gave Remingtons some bad reviews I don't know why.

What about NY state. Are there a little tough to find?

I know in NY it will be easier to find stuff simply because of less people can buy guns due to anti gun laws and discriminatory licensing. But are the SR's in the $750 Range. And I love the statement about Wilson combat and all being extremely overpriced for nothing special.

Have to be patient i gusse.
