Remington Rand value
I have come across a Remington Rand withs the serial number starting with 14090... I was wondering what it is worth. It's about 75%, it seems to be all original.

Somewhere between $450 and $2200, based on the information you've given.

You may spend a lot of money fixing things that weren't broken to begin with. Shoot it for at least 500 rounds, then decide what you don't like and want improved. Vintage 1911's should NEVER be refinished or modified because it ruins any value they had as a collectible firearm. |

The blueing is pretty worn and there is a small amount of surface rust in spots but its not to bad and can probably be cleaned up and the magazine has a lot of ware. I haven't shot it but everything seems to work.

And it has a scratch on the slide that looks to be from the slide release.

Well, for starters it should be Parkerized, not blued. Again, the best I can do is visuallize what you're describing, in which case if I were a buyer with that amount of information I wouldn't give more than $450 for it. Decent pictures are necessary to be able to come up with any sort of accurate figure. Also take note of any markings on the barrel.

Heck, at least it's something to look at...
Does anybody else think the grip screws look wonky?...

Looks a little out of round
I think it's a refinish. It has little collector value, I'd call it a refrigerator hanger

Now that you mention it, it does look a little out of proportion...
I think I got ripped off. First clue should have been the finish - will I ever learn... |

I think it's a Chinese Ma-See-Tunk-Murasaki-Shikaboo 1911 copy. Very rare, you won't see an example like that very often.

When adding links to pics please hit ENTER after you add each one, that way they don't stretch all the way across the screen. The pistol looks pretty good, but unfortunately the pictures are a bit too dark and fuzzy to see any details. Outdoor light (but not direct sunlight) would be better.
