Been twice. Excellent training. You will do a lot of shooting and at the end of 4 days you'll be glad it wasn't 5. They will put you through the wringer and make you a much more proficient shooter and a lot more knowledgable about when to shoot, when not to shoot, fun house, malfunctions, stress, more stress. All in all, very well worth it. I also attendee the 2 day shotgun and 4 day practical rifle.

I have been to the 4 day defensive handgun class 4 times and plan to go again this fall. The instructors are excellent and are there to teach. Safety is paramount but there is no drill instructor attitude. The previous poster hit the nail on the head. You are worn out at the end of each day and I am tired of shooting by the end of the 4th day. I have never been to any other school, but I can't imagine anyone topping Front Sight. I drive there each time from Illinois because I take all my ammo and extra handguns and just to make a road trip of it.

My dad, brother and I have all signed up to take the course, but haven't been able to coordinate our schedules. We are all looking forward to taking the course and making a nice trip out of it.

I have been to Front Sight 3 times and each time have taken several people with me. Everyone of us have had a great time with excellent instruction. I simply wish I had been there at a much younger age...before I developed incorrect habits and techniques. To that end I bought lifetime memberships for all family members, including grandchildren to get them started correctly. I know there is a great deal said about the marketing, and I certainly understand, it does get old. But, they train more people every year than all other facilities/orgs. combined. Plus, they are building a new facility just outside Dallas, TX. Not bad for a company that many say is corrupt, bankrupt, failing, etc. My point is that if you want a quality program, don't hesitate to go.

I have been to their facility one time to tke a free 1-day subgun course. The intruction was good, the facility was too remote and spartan. I was glad I could drive back to civilization at the end of the day. Parumph, is a dreary town, and far away.
Unless you can take the course for free, I would rather spend 3 times the money and go to Gunsite, which is unquestionably world-class instruction. The facility is really nice, the weather is better, and the surrounding area (hotels, restaurants, etc.) more hospitable.

You will love your training at FS. FS is 45 minutes from Vegas... but 25 minutes from Pahrump... and there should be everything you need there... Back in the free subgun days, it was much less developed (at FS) than it is now. Now there are about 20 pistol ranges, 2 rifle/shotgun ranges, bathrooms, etc...
Enjoy your training! Justin

Front Sight
My wife and I have taken over 30 courses their each since becomming members YEARS ago. Always have a great time, like the people we meet, like the instructors, some of which have become freinds over the years.
Will be back December, taking two courses. |

Going for the 3rd time in October, with my son and some friends. It's a great bonding experience, really good training, too. I want to do Practical Rifle and the shotgun course next year, too. Always very professional and worth the money. Location sucks a bit, but if you decide to go, make sure you stay at the Nugget in Pahrump. Best hotel out there for $59.00 a night. Plan to be worn out at the end of each day, and to be glad to go home after Day 4! If you go once, you'll want to go back.
