Berry's 185gr. RNHB & 230 gr. RN Data Needed.

I picked up 500 each of Berry's Plated 185 gr. RN Hollow Base & 230 gr. round nose in 45 ACP today at the gun show.

What is a good bullseye and steel load using Power Pistol, WST, Titegroup, or W231?

These will all be loaded for my 45 ACP - 5" auto loaders.

Thanks

I load both of those bullets, as I shoot 185 HBRN in steel challenge. However, I don't use any of your powders for it. I use Bullseye and AA#2. Here is my load data for the 185 HBRN.

CaliberBullet Bullet Weight Powder Type Powder Weight Primer OAL Min Max Avg Std Dev Power Factor Notes
45ACP Berry's HBRN 185 Accurate #2 5.5g LP 1.234 828 872 855 16 158 Pleasant Recoil
45ACP Berry's HBRN 185 Accurate #2 5.1g LP 1.234 783 814 800 11 148 Great steel load
45ACP Berry's HBRN 185 Bullseye 4.0g LP 1.251 0 Very Nasty, high muzzle flash, does NOT cycle my 1911 with an 18lb spring correctly
45ACP Berry's HBRN 185 Bullseye 4.6g LP 1.24 0 Accurate, mild recoil, heavy muzzle flash
45ACP Berry's HBRN 185 Bullseye 5.0g LP 1.24 0 Accurate, recoil is still lighter than AA#2 with 5.1g, very high muzzle flash

I have currently settle in at the 4.5g of Bullseye on a 1.25 OAL for the HBRN Bullet.

And for the 230gr rn Berry:

45ACP Berry's RN 230 Accurate #2 5.3g LP 1.235 780 802 788 7 181 Very heavy load
45ACP Berry's RN 230 Bullseye 4.0g LP 1.255 0 Pleasant shooting load, works well

I am currently using the 4.0g at 1.255" load, it works well, certainly has more snap than the 185g bullet I use, but is still very controllable.

5.2 gr of 231 @ 1.260 works well for me with 230gr RN Berrys.

230gr RN Berry's ridding on top of 5gr Bullseye and 1.25 COL works great for me.
185gr SWC Berry's w/5gr Bullseye are very accurate.

Have had good luck with accuracy from my full-size S&W 1911 shooting 230gr. Berry's RN with 6.0gr of Unique, OAL of 1.265", and CCI primers.
