My wife isn't all that excited about firearms in general....BUt we live in the the WI country.... What I did to get her involved in shooting was to not force the high powered weaponary on her....I bought her a SIG Mosquito...we both went through the CCW classes in both MN and WI and got our CCW permits together.

I want her to have the presence of mind and skill to lock-n-load when necessary...so our handguns are operationally the same... semi - automatics....upto and including my Kimber Ultra CDP II.

I want to actually carry and she has no intention on carrying for fear of unintentional discharge....I have no problem since we are new to CCW and the idea.

I am continuing onward with skill, training and a whole lot of reading and practice firing......

Long story short...she has since the top of the year....fired a .58-cal zouave, .54 cal springfield, my .45acp and 700 rounds of 22 through my Henry, Mosquito, sig 1911-22...

Just be patient and she will come around......just don't rush with the big guns right off the bat....

Just my 2 cents....

never lie to the wife

Just keep the guns locked and close by, don't tell her when you get new guns, the gun thing is between you and the LGS.
My wife of 18 years was this way, I conceal carried and she never knew I had a gun. After 18 years she had a heart attack and passed, now I open carry and she never had to deal with it. She was content in knowing I didn't have a gun on me. Today, new wife shoots and I can cc secretly with the best of them when need be.

I was carrying before my wife and I started dating years ago. Basically, me carrying concealed is "off limits" in our relationship and I put my foot down early. Still together after seven years :-)
