Monadh thanks for the info about rangemaster I have heard of them but never been there. I will give them a call this week or maybe stop by there. I don't carry one yet but I'm going to go get my permit to carry soon. I have not had any training but look forward for any training to make it safer and fun. I belong to the range in como ms. maybe we can get together and go shoot there. I purchased my kimber at guns and ammo in Southaven. Let's get together and shoot.

Thanks Kevin

Thanks Kevin, I would like to but we moved to Raleigh in 2008. My favorite Sportsmans Warehouse was shut down after we left, which lets you know how much I spent there.

Do go by Rangemaster and take a course. They are good, and their facilities are good. One thing about the Memphis area is that everyone carries, legal or not. When we would take customers out, they wanted to go shooting at Rangemaster.

You will be very happy with your Kimber. I have shot the semi custom brands but could tell no difference in quality or accuracy between my Kimber and them. I'm sure some of the details were better on the primo brands, but it was hard to see them.

Monadh,
Good to know there is not enough difference in the primo brands and others on the quality and accuracy. This is my first 1911 so I don't know a lot about them but I'm learning about them and to shoot them. It's a lot of fun to shoot and I see more 1911"s in my hands. Thanks for the info it will help. I don't live in Memphis but its not as bad as you say or at least I don't think it's that bad. Thanks again for the info.

Thanks Kevin

I don't sell any of the guns I have. I still have my first rifle and I'm 54. I will make a deal with you keep it learn to shoot as good as kimber and I will do the same. One day we might get together and have us a day of who is shooting better. Is that a deal ?
I sometimes carry my Super Match and see no reason to change out the sights.

Ehparis,
I would be afraid the sights might hang in holster when coming out. That is the only reason I would change the sights. You haven't had that problem carrying yours?

Thanks Kevin

If you mean the rear sight, it should be no where hear the holster. The only real issue I see, which could be big, is the sight digging into your side, or possibly hanging on a cover garment.

It's probably not near the problem that it would appear to be, although I'd rather have fixed sights.

Thanks SRJim for the info I think I would rather have the fixed sights also if and when I carry it.

Thanks Kevin
