Home defense idea

This does not work in some apartments.

My wife doesn’t like guns, shooting people and violence.
That being said, my idea is that if there is an intruder in the house she just shoots – the ceiling, the floor. This accomplices a couple of things; it puts the perp on notice there is a gun in the house and someone is not afraid to use it (there is a nut in there going crazy with a gun and I better get out of here) and the neighbors are all calling the cops for ‘shots fired’. Then she just stays in the bedroom and waits for the police.

What do you folks think?
