Not forsure with the early DW's but the firt two numbers in the serial number at least in the later models usually refers to the year. If this is true with your gun and I'm just guessing, I'm thinking the 01 means 2001 and if so you have a very low serial number. There are some DW folks around here that can probably tell you for certain and I'm sure they'll chime in eventually.
Congrats nice DW you scored.

DW temporarily stopped that practice during 2011/12.
Your SN and the bill board slide makes it a late 11 to early 12 production.

2012 model.

From Keith @ DW:

You won't find many with the Dan Wesson lasering. At the beginning of the year we had a special order made for a batch of PM9's with this special lasering. We shipped everything to Kansas but I guess the order fell threw so they were sent to others that had guns on order. Personally, I prefer the slides clean but I still think it looks pretty good for a range gun. Everyone will know what your shooting. We actually laser our competition shooters guns the same way.

Thanks for everyone's response after looking at the post about the lettering one person has n0164 and his shell casing said 4/23/12 so it would be somewhere around that time period. Thanks everyone's response and helping send me in the right direction.
