1911-22 Help
After 3K plus rounds through my 1911-22 i decided it was time for a detail strip and clean. The frame was no problem but the slide was a little different. After taking the pics so i would remember how it can apart, i began diss-assembly. During this adventure the plunger safety cap and spring?? it believe that whats its called, popped off and wouldnt go back in. Decided to reassemble so i could ask my lgs about it (he had no clue). Question is, can i shoot it without it or will it blow up in my hand

It just doesn't't seem like a good idea to shoot it without those parts. When you consider that all the parts act as a part of a system, then one part of the system could result in a failure in another part. There is a reason the parts are where they are and what they are supposed to do.
You should check with a gunsmith or call Sig Sauer to know for sure what you need to do.

It seems as though you are asking if you can fire the gun without the recoil assembly. NO! The slide will not operate correctly. If you're saying that the armorer in your LGS had no clue about this part, I would look for another armorer. The best way to get this gun back together would be to look at the assembly diagram in your manual. Sig also has the manual online. Look on Youtube, search for your exact gun, there may be a video that will help with putting it back together.
