Winchester Value Packs not real value?
Sent the following to Winchester today to see what if anything they will do. Also has anyone else noticed this happening?
I have over the past three weeks encountered ammo shortages in the Winchester White box Value packages. I have purchased these from my local Walmart and have found the following; Box 1: CT510EY E1295265 K7190 9035742_111587_12/11 96 bullets Minus 4 Box 2: CT510EY E1295265 K7190 9035742_11587_12/11 94 bullets Minus 6 Box 3: CT510EY E1295265 9035742_11587_12/11 K7190 97 bullets Minus 3 Box 4: CT510EY E1295265 9035742_11587_12/11 K7190 97 bullets Minus 3 Box 5: CT510EY E1295265 9035742_11587_12/11 K7190 98 bullets Minus 2 Box 6: CT510EY E1295265 9030657_111031_8/11 K7190 99 bullets Minus 1 Box 7: CT510EY E1295265 9035742_11587_12/11 K7190 97 bullets Minus 3 The boxes looked closed and un-opened when purchased but I took to tracking this as when I began loading even numbers into magazines it kept coming up short so I continued to tally the results. I don't know if this is a QC issue or what if anything can be done. Please let me know. Regards

Winchester will probably give you a coupon for another box of ammo.Let us know.I don't buy there bulk pak .45 no more as the first and only box I bought 1 of the rounds I found after I fired it was sitting right by my cardboard target stand.Bout 20ft away.If you were a reloader you could of used the bullet again.I am just glad it cleared my barrel. There high end stuff like PDX1 seems too be good stuff.I think the white bulk boxes are in a class all by themselves.

I have had some issues of "mixed" ammo from Winchester lately. I bought some white box JHP's and received 2 rounds of FMJ ammo.

That's really a bummer to get shorted over and over. Have you ever considered reloading?

It is to make up for the guys that get 102-104 per box. My Brother in law held the record for many years by stuffing 110 rounds into a box before sending it down the line. He had to put it back on after the scale or it would have been kicked out for being overweight.

Thanks for the input. I have considered reloading but currently have more money than time so for the current I'll buy. As soon as Winchester contacts me I will post the results. I am grateful for the online deals so Wally world isnt the only option as Winchester isn't the only option either but maybe that's why the "Value" pack cost less than 2 boxes of 50 each. Still no value.

+1 on that! I don't think I've ever bought a value pack that did not have at least 101 rounds in it. I wish I would get extra .45's but it's only in the 9mm value packs.

Maybe Winchester is not the culprit. Maybe the Wally World employees have a shooting habit they can't afford...
![]() If they take a couple out of each box, who would notice? Out of a case, they get a free box! What a great deal.

I also think that Wally World employees may have had a hand (pardon the pun) in the missing ammo. Several years ago I had the same problem with Federal .45 ammo, 50 round boxes. I bought ten boxes. I took two boxes to the range and found that the last five rounds from each box were missing. Once I got home, I checked the remaining eight boxes and found that each of them had five rounds missing. So, someone, (at least from the ten boxes I bought) scored fifty rounds. Of course, the thief knew that taking just five rounds would hardly affect the weight of the 50 round box. No telling how many other shooters found the same problem. I guess I should've complained to the store manager and / or Corporate but I got busy and never got around to it. |

It is my recollection that the 100 rd. value packs are sealed with glue. If that is the case, it would make it difficult for a store employee to steal ammo from these cartons.

I have never had one sealed like that. Maybe they just started.

I also have seen every box of WWB 45 100 round value pack, sealed with glue.

Am I the only person on here who opens the boxes before purchasing?

I take the sealed 100 round packs from Wally World and put them in a plastic MTM 100 round box. So far I get 100 rounds. I don't buy a bunch and have not bought any in a few months. Makes me want to go out and buy a couple soon.

I get WWB value packs from the local WalMart. They are sealed tight as a drum. Plus the packing is 20 to row with 5 rows. You would notice a short or for that matter an overage pretty fast.
Is there different packing by state? |

It's ok, I've found the missing rounds. They were right next to the pile of left socks that my dryer ate. Which I also happened to buy at wallyworld... Someone notice a pattern?

I have emailed Olin the parent company today as the email contact on the Winchester site hasn't given any results. The boxes are glued closed so I can see Wally Word didn't snatch them and on the 9mm value packs the bullets are loose in the box unlike the 45 ACP boxes. More to follow.

They both had 101 rounds. Today 6/30 I bought 2 more 100 round boxes of 9mm. One had 101 the other 102! Guess I got the golden ticket. ![]() My luck usually does not hold out. I'm sure the cards will turn and I'll get the 96 - 98 round box. Glad Winchester is backing their products up with something! Regards, Kevin |

I've encountered this with the Winchester value packs in the past. I started ordering the Canned Heat 500 round ammo cans from Georgia Arms and called it good.

As far as 9x19mm I've had anywhere between 101-106 rounds in my WWB from Wal-Mart. I've been very happy with the results, especially since I've purchased 1k rounds and ended up with an extra 20-30 rounds.

After 4 emails I had a reply and a phone call to discuss the issues. The guy I talked to was a bit rude but sent a $10.00 gift certificate to be used for Winchester purchase. Nice enough.
