This is my first 1911 I have owned, a 2011 DW CCO. I picked it up in a trade for some work I did for a friend. The gun has never been fired. I can't really compare it to any other 1911 but I have to say this thing is sweet

After being on the wait list at my local shop for about 3-4 months i was surprised yesterday when I got a call from the owner telling me he had a non blem in 45 acp that just arrived with my name on it.

Here are some pics. They are not the best since I have been fitting it to a new Galco Summer comfort holster so I need to polish it up a bit and re post some pix but these will do for now. All I have done is add the custom grip screws I got from VZ. I actually really like the VZ slim grips that come on it.

No worries! You can quote this reply to see the code. Basically, I inserted your attachment as an image into the quote of your original mesage using the little image icon, third from the right in the message toolbar. It is necessary to keep the attachment to the message to make that possible.

So once you upload the image you basically need to copy it into the insert image icon? Seems like the approach should be a simple one-step process instead of multiple. I will try again on another post

Long version: After you attach your image, preview your message. Then, if you run MS Windows, shift click to view the image in another window. Next position your mouse cursor over the image and, if you run MS Windows, right click the image and select "copy image location". Go back to editing your message. Use the image icon and past the location.

Currently this is the only DW that I own, it's the one that "I'm taking with me", lol.

When Les Baer refused to make me a (pre paid) 10mm Commander, I took a shot and asked Keith Lawton at DW if I could get a non bobtailed Commander built. Much to my surprise, he said yes. After discussing my wants, Keith said that they could accommodate them all and the rest is history.

I chose to have DW build me a stainless 10mm non bobtailed Commander with a set of buried adjustable Bomars with green front and yellow rear Trijicon night sights. I add flat S&A magwells to all of my 1911's (Commanders, one and all), this one received the same.

I also had Paul Persinger make me a set of smooth Ivory stocks with over sized double diamonds, at first he resisted making them because he didn't think they would turn out. After completing them he was so impressed by the way they felt in the hand he asked if he could offer the style to others.

When I thanked Keith Lawton for the tremendous job they did in making my 10mm, I asked if he could let the guys in the shop know how pleased I was with it, he said he'd pass the info on "to the person" that built it. I was so blown away by that, that I forgot to ask who did build it for me. This gun's fit and finish was so much nicer than either of my Les Baer's that I sold both of them. Nuff said.

I did send Keith a pic showing my Custom DW along with the guns that it replaced as my carry options.

Going clockwise from the 12 o'clock position,my Custom DW 10mm non bobtailed Commander, a non cataloged stainless Gold Cup Commander, a Para Ordnance P14 with a P13 top end, an S&W 1066 10mm, a Witness Carry Comp, one of the aforementioned Les Baer Concept VIII Commanche's.
