Nice options added. The EE I have on order will have the same top and back of slide as yours. Love that on my EE-Cent too. I thought I read that Brown has halted the Jewled Hood option - or perhaps when ordering it new only - not sure. You may be lucky to have that. (Wished they did fluted barrels - love that look)

If/when I need to have some re-finishing done I intend to add the same slide options to other pistols I have - really do like the look it brings. Not sure I absolutley agree on their functionality - but some say its a functional feature over an asthetic one.

Love the grips too - very nice looking Brown.

I think I read were they have stopped doing the jeweled hood as well. I had it added to one of mine and am very pleased with the look. I do wonder as it wears if they will still redo it.

I was told it was just perfect timing to send in the barrel for the jewelling ( $100-option)....they were able to squeeze me in another larger work order. Someone asked about the grip maker....AT custom grips, type it in a search, he has a facebook page. I have ordered several sets and every time I have been extremely pleased. Thanks again for all the positive comments.

JD, thanks for the info. I took a peek and he has some beautiful pairs for sale. In fact, another awesome pair just like yours is on top! As of late, I'm up to my eyeballs in grips and 2 more pairs are being made. It still won't kill me to look, thanks again, I'll always be checking his site as it's difficult to tame the woodaholic in me

Has anyone seen that type grip on a blued gun? I have a blue CC on order and a Wilson Turnbull blue CBQE.

JD, you have cost me some $$$ today. I didn't have a stainless gun in house or on order but I do now. George had a new Wilson CQBelite come in last night in stainless, naked slide, ect. and now I am the proud owner. I have Alan trying to find me some wood for grips like yours and I will be in business.

Yea, I emailed back and forth with Alan and I requested that if in fact he put any grips on fleabay to shoot me the link and I could check them out too. I really have too many irons in the proverbial wood grip fire these days...I love to look though..

What model # heinie rear sight did you use? Is it the low mount ledge? How does it work with the EB front ... High, low or dead on?

major 1911....the model is ultra low ledge straight eight .140 notch. Ordered from Brownells. Haven't tested the gun with sight yet. Should be the same as factory Novak. Specs/height are the same. Fit was perfect with no fitting required.

Copy. Thanks. I have the ledge on my VBOB and really like it. Hence, all the questions. I think I'm going to the same for my EE. Also, thinking about putting on the magwell. Can't leave well enough alone.

That's some killer work done in a short amount of time, 8 days? Thats incredible. I may have to send my Brown in for a few extra doo dads. I like the jeweled hood. I wonder if they would jewel the entire barrel and possibly the guide rod? Would that much jeweling possibly have a negative impact on performance? Anyway congrats, that's is a sweet pistol!

I think you have just about every option possible. Sweet gun, couldn't be nicer looking. Have you shot it? How does that jeweled hood hold up? Does it get scratched up after running a bunch of rounds through it? I love the look of the hood and will send mine in, if Ed Brown still does this type of work. Thanks

I think I recently read that Brown is no longer doing or offerieng a Jewled hood - might want to call them to verify that. When they changed or stopped this I am unaware - just spreading rumor.

Not sure when it was first dropped, but tried to order with for a customer a few weeks ago and was told directly by Brown it is no longer offered.
