New Tacops TR on the way!
Hi! Just bought a TR tacops today and I can't be more anxious! I had the chance to handle a regular model a while ago and really liked it. Also had the chance to order the regular tacops or the extreme. Chose the TR model because of holster availability and hopefully it's value will hold since I really had to wait for the TR model to be available. That said, I would really like to see some pics of your tacops, regular or traditional, especially if it has any cosmetic mods. Hopefully someone has an all black model since I think it would look awesome with a black trigger and hammer. Thanks in advance!

Great choice. I've been really considering that model myself. I have a carry scorpion and an STX. Now I want an all black 1911 with traditional slide, full-size with a rail...I was actually thinking about a Kimber or a Springfield, but after I actually looked at them, no thanks. Sig is the better deal and the Tacops traditional seems to be the one.

By the way, I think it would be smoking hot with a set of light tan VZ operators or gunner grips.
The stainless hammer and aluminum trigger don't bother me, but blacking it out would be cool. In that case, you'd have to do black or dark gray grips. |

Here's my Sig TacOps Traditional. It has the Sig barrel finished in Nitron and I have since put a set of narrow slotted King Gun Works black grip screws on her. I'm working towards getting the Harrison Design solid long trigger and skeletonized hammer both finished in IonBond. That will complete the black out.

Does the TR model fit all 1911 holsters or only railed 1911 holsters?? Thinking about a MTAC shell for the tacops once it gets here.

Welcome, nice to see you posting here!
The slide profile will fit traditional govt-profile holsters, but being that it has a rail, you'll need to find holsters that are made for a 1911 with a railed frame. Toss a pic or two up here when you get your hands on the new piece.

Sure I will. Thanks for your PM answer too btw. Let's see what holster I'll get for the new 1911 once it gets here.

Here's mine with the VZ OPS IIs on it, but I put the OEs back on for better size-OEs are a hair bigger IMO. You'll love it.

LEO2B: I've had your TacOps picture on my desktop for a while now. Beautiful! Those grips really change the way the whole gun looks. I seem to like the original grips for now. Maybe later on I'll change them.

Anybody get brave with a Dremel, on their grips yet?
I really like the mag. release cut that VZ does, but with a more aggressive angle like the fellas at 10-8 do... |

I haven't taken a dremel to any of my grips yet but I have taken sandpaper to a set of Nighthawk G10 Golfball grips. The points were so harsh I had to do it to save my hands. I used a wet sanding method as to not stir up dust since G10 dust is suppose to be an irritant if breathed in.

Do they, or will they make a traditional tacops carry without threaded barrel?

What a great pistol! Those grips are very nice looking. Are those original Sig grips or aftermarket? Thanks. |

Thanks for the compliment! Those are not original Sig grips. They are the Gunner grips made by Strider, not the original Simonich Gunner grips. |

What is the difference in the tr and the r models?

The R has a squared "Sig" style slide. The TR has the rounded traditional 1911 slide. The TR fits a wider variety of holsters.

First 32 rounds on target @25 yards. I noticed I shoot a little to the left, something I had never experienced with my Glock. Nothing to worry about since I had never shot a government 1911 before. Slowly I started to feel the trigger and eventually came on target. I have a new favorite gun!! |
