Slide stop question
Who's making the slide stop part for the latest round of DW's? I dig the 'ledge' style and would like to add it to one of my non-DW pistols.

Along the same lines, who supplies the thumb safety on the Valor? I thought I read somewhere here that it was EGW? Reason I ask is that I am having work done on another gun and want to use the same slide stop and safety. I already use Grieder slide stops on a couple of other 1911s, but have not tried an EGW thumb safety.

I believe that the thumb safety is an in-house DW part

Thanks, they did a nice job. It is very well made and comfortable to use so that is why I was hoping it was from an outside source.

So a follow up... the slide stop is a Greider part. Anyone have a lead on where I can purchase from? Midway, Brownells, Dawson all goose eggs in this instance.

I picked up a couple from harrisoncustom.com, but I don't see them in his web store anymore.
I know Nighthawk uses the same part, you might try them. Harrison does still sell the curved ledge version, similar profile and ledge size, but with a slight curve. Gun crafter use the same part and I have a stainless one on my custom Valor.

The "Harrison Extreme Slide Stop" is either the Greider "Tactical" version or very, very similar. Available at Harrison's site and Brownells.
I've bought both the Tactical and regular versions of the Greider slide stop on ebay in the past, but haven't seen them there lately. |
