Are the Operator's that much more gripy then the Operator II? VZ website talks about replacing the Operators with a less grippy Operator II grip and sanding down the Operators if it's too grippy which has me asking how grippy is grippy?

Also, anyone have these on a matte SS gun? I have solid black rubber on my Kimber and Solid black on my Dan Wesson which against SS they stand out. Wondering if these will be washed out ?
I just got a pair of the desert sand operators you have pictured on the left for my AKote TRP that I just got an email from Springfield that they are shipping it out Tuesday May 8th back to my house....YESSSS! So I will most definitely have pictures of that badboy Friday maybe even Thursday night, stay tuned....story at eleven! As far as more or less grippy, I'd say the Ops are more grippy than the OpII's but I like em both, so I bought em both, problem solved.

I recently bought the Operators in black/desert sand. I was debateing between the Operators and the Operators II. I went with the Operators because VZ's website said the Operators II were more grippier that the Operators.
I didn't want them too rough. I'm kind of sorry now. The Operators don't seem rough on my hands at all.
I know this won't be my last set of VZ grips. The next set will be grippier.
Either way, they are great grips.

(The 5" Government) It has the same VZ Double Diamond grips as the other gentlemen who posted that Commander bobtail above and back<<<. They are that same OEM blue/tan/gray color. They feel great in the hand and look awesome on that gun. I'm leaving those stock except for adding some VZ Turbo screws. I go to pick it up next week. I was about two hundred bucks short, so my FFL let me put it on layaway to hold it for a week or two. That gun wouldn't have lasted. Others were eyeballin' it while I was thinking! LOL It was an impulse buy. I looked at it in the case. I asked to see it and then I fell instantly in love with the thing. I knew right then I had to own that gun! I can't hardly wait. Anyway...here is my Wilson CQB with Army green Simonich Gunners and black washed Radiation II head VZ screws. Also my Springfield Professional FBI HRT/SWAT with limited edition S.W.A.T. black Diamondbacks. The S.W.A.T. is machined right into the grip. It's a nice touch to just plain "blah" walnut FBI contract grips. The screws are the VZ Turbos. They finish off the look and set it off. This gun looks much better set up like this. I couldn't be happier. From now on, every 1911 I own is gonna wear VZ grips. The quality even seemed better than the Wilson G10 grips I bought... and later sold when I found out about VZ. Oh, and the best part... NO fitting whatsoever required. They fit right on and have a microscopic gap that fits better than any other grip I've tried.
As promised, here's that new Dan Wesson Valor wearing stock out of the box VZ Double Diamonds in black/gray with extra custom Turbo screws I added. I love this new 1911 already. The fit and the finish is outstanding for that kind of bread. I'd stack it up against my Wilson and Springfield Professional (NOT A TRP). The Professional is the FBI HRT/SWAT service pistol and is at least $1,000 MORE than a TRP. When I ordered mine, it took a year to get it. Now I hear it can take up to two years. I have a Les Baer Thunder Ranch Special with the 1.5 @ 50 upgrade on order as well as a OD frame/black slide Wilson CQB. Both of those are going to wear VZ grips as well. I've not found anything even close to their quality so far. It's top notch. This year gave us a brand new RIPPING AWESOME '12 Van Halen album and some high quality 1911 and grips. What more could a guy want?

Now I'm learning how to read their descriptions..

Operators:
• TEXTURE: Aggressive

Operators II:
• TEXTURE: Very Aggressive

I have double diamond G10's on my Dan Wesson which I like. They list
• TEXTURE: Medium/ Grippy

I would have thought Aggressive = Grippy but with DD's description I don't know. Are the Operators that much more grippy then the DD's?

They look like 320s. And they look great on that TRS.

Want...

320's, ahhh, cool, Thx, Robert! They sure are pretty sweet, I thought they weren't going to be ambi cut, but not a deal breaker, had to have em when I saw em' plus they came with screws and stainless bushings, which was great since my TRS grips and screws only work together (large slotted head didn't fit into VZ screw cut-outs) I would have been bummed if I got em and couldn't have put em on. Alas, all is well in the Thunderdome, lol!

VZ and Kimber

Operator's II, Black Desert Sand. Very nice aggressive texture. No danger of this one slipping out of a sweaty hand.

SD,

I love those black and gray grips, especially the ETC Frag's on the dark finish. Would it be too much to ask for you to put a couple more shots of them on here? Maybe a straight on side shot? I have been thinking about a pair of the same ETC's you have for one of my blued Ed Brown's. Nice looking pistols you have there.

Sincerely,

PastorDW
