Nightmare

I made my weekly sweep of the LGS's today. Have really been wanting a Dan Wesson Heritage or Valor, because of my great experience with the DW CCO, but neither has hit the shops lately. I wanted the DW as a replacement for my SIG GSR 1911, which was perfect over the two years or more I had it but is now gone due to a set of unfortunate circumstances. The only thing I didn't like about it was the way the rather sharp lower rfear edge of the straight grip dug into the meaty part of my large hand.

Noticed a SIG in the display case with what looked like a bob-tailed grip. Upon examination, I found it to be a full-size 1911 with the most comfortable 1911 grip I have ever experienced, even with other manufacturer's bobtails.
So I bought it. Later on the SIG web site I found that it is called a "Nightmare".

I do not care for the appearance of the contrasting stainless grip safety, thumb safety, slide stop, barrel bushing, extractor, and the skeletonized trigger, on the black gun. But wow, that handle makes the cosmetics bearable. Can't wait to try it out.

I have since found a DW RZ45 Heritage and bought it also. I have a range report posted on the Nightmare and the RZ45.
