So at what point does he go from "suspect" to being an actual armed robber? I'm just saying...

At the point that the news media becomes involved. In the real world, suspects are hardly ever shot and killed. Robbers are, though.

Glad to hear of someone protecting their family. It's never a happy day when someone has to be killed, but it had to be done. Also, I am glad to see that there were no anti-gun trolls in the comments section of the article(always gets on my nerves).

Ya know, this brings up a funny story.

A elderly female relative of mine was working in a convenience store in Jet Okalahoma a couple of decades ago. A guy comes in and asks if they have pork and beans. She starts to tell him where they're at, but decides to just get them for him. When she walks back to the counter, she discovers that he's pulled his 'gun' out of his trousers and has exposed himself, laying it out on the counter.

She's startled and tosses the can of pork and beans at him.

It strikes him on his member, causing him to lose conciousness and hit the floor, further knocking him out.

The local Sheriff arrives and cuffs him as the ambulance crew is preparing to take him first to the hospital and then to jail.

Everybody cracks up as the lil ol lady comments "I suspect if he ever tries that again, he'll ask for marshmallows!"

If it was gang related, I'd be concerned about the jeweler's safety or his family's. So unnecessary, but just think of the outcome had he not been armed.
