Need info. Is the GSR the same holster profile as the current Sig 1911?
I was talking to the Milt Sparks Holster company the other day, looking to pick up a VM-2 holster for my newer Sig 1911, and the guy said that their holster uses a Sig 1911 GSR railed profile. They don't have the current Sig 1911 profiles in their inventory.
Well, I was looking to pick up a VM-2 for my Sig 1911R-SSS (stainless steel), and I'm pretty sure that the profile is the same as the GSR profile, but I'd like to be sure. What say you, 1911 Forum gurus? I've already got a VM-2 on order for my Springfield TRP full rail, and they will ship out together if I can get this sorted out. Their lead time is currently 16-20 weeks. It's worth the wait though, Milt Sparks holsters are top notch. I figure someone out there has already ordered a VM-2 for their Tac-Ops or Scorpion. Anyone with knowledge on the subject? __ |

the profile of the Sig 1911 has not changed since they dropped the GSR logo. Sig now also makes 1911s with a traditional slide as well but if you have one with the Sig pattern slide and a rail you want a holster that says GSR.

Cool. They looked the same, but having never owned a GSR, I wanted to make sure. Thanks.
