The stock rear site is really sub-par. It's plastic and the set screw used to tighten it down strips out very easily....then you can't keep it tight and it moves. Replaced mine with a fully adjustable metal sight.

Loving mine but didn't realize till after it was the CA model ... it appears the only difference is the non-threaded barrel. Are there any other differences? I don't see myself ever suppressing it, but being able to use that tapered bushing may have been nice

Nice
I got one made my self out of s/s but I got the shaft 1 thou wider which fills the guide rod plug better and reduces the plug wobble, which seams to me makes the cycling smother and more uniform with the factory rod it seam to have a different cycling action from shot to shot now it seam the be uniform so i can get back on target quicker when I shoot issf matches well that's what it feels like to me.
Happy shooting guys

just ordered a gsg 1911 and with the help from others posting just ordered the spare parts needed to ensure a reliable firearm. and got an extra slide to boot. the parts are
1.new bushing midway
2. 3 firing pins from ati
3.mag followers
4.1911 parts kit from ati
5 new slide ati
6.new guide rod cw accessories and mag bases
so for now that should hold me , until i get the need to do some more upgradeing, saftey, grips, sights etc.

Just a little of the finish wearing off, other than that the gun shoots very good...

Oh I see I've got the same on mine I just rounded the edges on the bushing and polished the inside bottom too less wear on the bottom of the barrel and used gun grease.

Compensator Question

Has anyone put a Compensator on UP-SIDE DOWN (gas thrust downward) my reason for asking will it give the 22 a "Kick" similar to 1911 big cousin?

Hmm I understand what u mean but most comp are threaded and to face it down it would be loose and can swing around u would have to get one made to suit, and as most 1911 .22 are fixed barrel the barrel would be forced up against its locking pins which isn't good for it. I have found cci mini mags ammo is close to my 9mm 1911? If want something close to a .45 ull have to look at something in a .22 magnum.

Thread pitch..

'Sorry all... I didn't find this tidbit, so...
Are all the GSG-1911's threaded and what thread pitch
are they?; I need a new .22LR suppressor host and have
adapters for a SIG Mosquito and a Walther P-22...

Are they reliable w/ a suppressor? I have a YHM Mite.

Thanks allot,

Eric

Eric,

All except California models are threaded.

The thread is M9x.75

The Walther barrel is M8x.75

They are very reliable with a suppressor. We always use full power ammo though as subsonics are not quite as accurate.

ATI Christopher

Perhaps you can tell me which Meprolight Tru-Dot sights will fit my Titan. Love the gun, shoots straight, looks good, but I need different sights. Any idea?

Same sights as currently used on the Colt Defender.

Please be aware that this is a GSG 1911-22 thread and that Chris has long since gone MIA from this forum.

Has any one INCREASED the capacity of the Magazine on the GSG 1911-22, It seems there is a lot of space used by the "follower". I use the aluminum "insert" button to draw the follower down when inserting bullets, it saves fingernail.

Any advice on the best way to keep my slide looking good? The normal wear marks from the slide cycling and the slide stop have worn off the factory paint and it is showing the bare metal. I like my guns looking good and am wondering if just touch up paint or some other approach is best?

I would like to upgrade the polymer parts on a Sig Sauer 1911 22LR to steel or aluminum parts (mainspring housing & grip safety). Some descriptions on these parts are for a Series 70 and Series 80. Do you know what series parts fit?

the gun is amazing, a couple FTF and jams but that was because i didnt clean the gun before hand and was using cheap remington bulk from wally world. the gun was alot of fun.

Also, do standard bump pads work on the gsg mags?

You might save money going to a gun show. I went to a couple of local gun shows and picked mags for $29.95 each. No shipping, just local sales tax. All total, I got 4 new mags plus the one that came with the gun.

Gsg1911 .22

I just picked up a used gsg and so far have been very happy with my purchase. A few fte's and ftf's but that was using standard velocity rounds to see how it handled them. And I got my questions answered. Loves the mini mag round target load. I have noticed that the guide rod is getting chewed up pretty nicely. I ordered a replacement guide rod and spring from a guy named Chet whistle. I'll be testing it out and I'll let everyone know how it works out. $26 bucks shipped.
But overall I'm happy with the gun. Picked it up for 275 with 3 mags. None of the other effects it was supposed to come with but I called and told them my story and even though it's used they still said they'd send oh all that stuff. That being said I received it a few days later and low and behold I get all the extras for their rifle the 522. One more phone call and my extra sights Allen wrench and manual are on the way. But for the money I paid for the gun what's a few fte's and ftf's on a plinking toy. One happy guy
