I really like that gun and I'm a huge 'black out' fan these days.
I think the black Alumagrips with the NHC logo would look awesome on this gun too. Similar to those your Talon II.

Looks great!!! I believe that my next 1911 will be all black. Especially since I already have' Two that are two tone. Black over chrome & SS over black. I like to change things up from time to time.

BTW - What was the original finish?

Shockpilot, great looking Hawk! Do you have any idea who built it? Looks like they did a precision job with it..Also, when you mention almost all diamond black, are you referring to some of the parts? Everything seems well matched.

Jeff Phillips, originally it had a bare barrel, bushing, and trigger as pictured above and I had them coated so now it's all DiamondBlack.

Jeff was definitely one of the stars building NH's as was Kevin. They both put some great builds into the hands of NH owners. It looks like the bushing is a tad thicker also, kinda like the Heinie models. How's it shoot btw?

Just so I understand... Was it all diamond black at first, and the you had it finished in black nitride? It looks like the whole gun is much blacker than it did in your earlier pictures.

This gun is 100% DB. Trigger, barrel, and bushings were originally white so he sent those components to Nighthawk to have DB'd too.

I would love to know how well diamond black holds up on the barrel hood. I thought that hard chrome would not show wear very easily on the hood. Not the case at all. My predator's hard chromed barrel hood was pretty worn straight from the box.

The barrel hood is going to show wear no matter what coating is on it. DB holds up but still shows wear.

Some show little to no wear at 1000 rounds and some wear instantly. I know of a 1911 with well over 1000 that shows zero wear on a melonited barrel.
