What to buy

G'Day all, I'm a newbie around here and was just hoping to get some advice on what 1911 to buy.

Obviously I'm in an STI forum and opinions may be a tad biased but from what i have heard and read, maybe rightly so.

Anyway, my choices have been limited by calibre and price.

Calibre wise, I am wanting to shoot either 38 Super, or 357 Sig... Which would probably buying one chambered in 40 S&W and swapping out the barrel if one is even available. I am aware that these to calibres are close enough in performance when reloaded that it should be of small concern, but I have all dies and everything already setup for the sig.

My short listing so far is:

*STI Trojan
*Colt Special Combat Government
*Kimber Stainless Target II, and at the EXTREME upper end of my budget
*Wilson Combat Classic

I understand some of these have cast frames, others forged stainless. Some have full length guide rods, and others don't...
