I say most threads in this forum are related to our rights including the 2nd.
What I am trying to make a point of is that most threads in this forum relate directly to our rights and to the 2nd amendment that spells that right.
A thread warning us about terrorism, about an overbearing government, about a news article, a new law, a new justice on the SCOTUS, TV news, TV show, a point of view expressed by any liberal or RINO if he is in politics, the media, hollyweird, school, field of medicine or even by some member here that supports anti gun liberals for election has a direct or indirect effect on our rights. So the thread does not have to start with "How that and that affects the 2nd" because I am sure most here are smart enough to relate it to the 2nd and how it will affect our right to keep and bear arms so we can protect ourselves, our families, our country and try to live in peace and safety. Just my thoughts, I think it is always good to evaluate ourselves also. |

Read the sticky as to permissible content
The problem is that far too many threads don't fall within forum guidelines (even this one probably belongs in the "administrative" subforum, which seems to have disappeared), but the mods are (perhaps too) tolerant of the marginal ones. Just because it relates to somebody, some business, or some governmental entity doing something that impacts guns and/or gun ownership or use, that doesn't make it a "2A" issue. Posts of marginal "2A" relevance degrade almost immediately and even those directly on point inevitably seem to get out of bounds before the end of the second page or so of increasingly vituperative posts.

Thank goodness the moderators are alert to free speech that exceeds their bounds of acceptability. If only our benificent government would restrict that pesky 1st Amendment. And that awful 2nd Amendment. What is the country coming to when men think they're free enough to speak their mind, own "weapons of mass destruction", gather into groups to criticize the government -- or even a forum rule -- why there's no end to it! And the brass to post such ideas in a forum section labeled "legal and political news"! Next thing is you'll have ordinary citizens thinking they can defend themselves instead of calling 911.
