The agony of waiting for a TRS
Ordered my TRS a couple weeks ago, only about 24 more weeks to go...
Since ordering I have been in and out of local dealers putting my mits on Wilson and Nighthawk customs... Not sure I can wait 24 weeks for this thing to show up! Any advice from current owners on how to make the wait more Baer-able? =) -Freq |

Only way to make the wait easier is to buy something local and shoot it until the TRS arrives.
I ordered a UTC and had a long wait. Getting a TRS locally made the wait easier, though.

If you live in Southwest AZ you can come by and put some rounds through mine. Otherwise, keep looking at pics and dreaming of tight groups.

I had my TRS in 5 days; my Stinger in 3 days and my 6" P II in only 22 weeks.

I Had my LB CC sent to Dave Severns for some custom touches before coming home to me, so the wait was a little longer than usual. I really tried to forget about it after ordering it. Of course picking up other pistols and rifles during that time frame and hitting the range with them helped me NOT to focus on how long was left. Remember, that which does not kill us, only makes us stronger.
Yeah right. Hang in there! Sarge

I was expecting a long wait and my TRS was finished much earlier than expected. Maybe the same will happen to you. In the meantime knowing that you ordered one of the best 1911's out there at a better value than the overpriced Wilsons and Nighthawks (IMO) should keep you satisfied.

I ordered my first Baer last Wednesday, had it Friday, so I only waited 2 days and it was rough. Same dealer had TRS's in stock. Did you order something different or special? Just wandering why you have to order and not get from a stocking dealer.

I ordered it custom, the way I wanted it. No front slide serrations, no slide markings, 3 hole speed trigger, tactical mag release, no ambi safety.
Thanks for the moral support folks... I agree with Sarge, the whole instant gratification thing...instant gratification is awesome! Honestly, I'm not sure I can keep from buying another 1911 between now and then... But who needs 3? =) -Freq |

I'm doing that too. And just like when I ordered the UTC and got the TRS while waiting for it, I got a Pro Operator which holds me over while my other pro is on order.
That definitely makes the waits easier.

My custom ordered Monolith Heavyweight took only 16 weeks, which was a pleasant surprise.

A buddy offered to sell me his pro one day after I ordered the TRS.
I wonder how they compare? -Freq |

I shoot my Pro Operator better than my Baers, but I think that's due to being able to grip it better with the 20 lpi checkering on the front strap vs the 30 lpi on the Baers. Pros have the same accuracy guarantee as a regular Baer, and they're still fit really tightly. I would put my Pro Operator up against any of the high-end manufacturers. It does feel different to shoot than a Baer, though. I think all 1911's feel different, but the tightness and smoothness of a Baer is noticeable when shooting.
