Ordering a Nighthawk question
For those of you who have ordered your custom nighthawk and been put on the waiting list, can you be put on the waiting list and not make an initial deposit? I'm thinking that since this is going to be my next 1911, I'd like to get put on the waiting list so when my turn comes up a couple months down the road I'll have all the money saved up and waiting. Is this possible? I tried doing this with Ed Brown but they want a deposit of half the purchase price, which is more than I've got right now. I rather just spend it all in one sitting for a finished product and not have over a grand sitting in someone's hand while they "get around" to my gun. Thanks all!
Read. Enjoy. Discuss

Lack of a down payment indicates a less than serious intention. 50% is a little higher than some smiths ask for, but you should expect to put something down.

Nighthawk requires half of purchase price as down payment. Pretty common across the builders.
Some dealers www.migunslingers.com allow you to order any gun with a $100 deposit. |

I guess I'll just have to wait and save up. I just hate having to wait, 6-12 months!!

Why wouldn't you just go through George at gunslingers? You probably will get a better deal then straight from Nighthawk and your down payment will be minimal.

This will be the 3rd post recommending to speak with George Talia, owner of Gunslingers. Not only can you order the NH of your dreams for $100 down to order it, after it's built and shipped to George the clock starts ticking and you have a year to pay it off. A lot of folks, myself included, have purchased several pistols from George. He's excellent to deal with and will give you an exceptional price on your NH..

gunslingers man, better price, 100 bucks down.
I went thru george. FYI i ordered back in january of 2012, and the wait was a year back then, so much longer than a couple months. Last edited by bjeffv; 04-16-2012 at 05:58 PM. |

Got a Nighthawk on order with George now, I sent him what I had in my pocket when I placed the order $300, I was told by Nighthawk to expect 18-22 months, you might as well get on the list now 18-22 months is plenty of time to save.
My local LGS which is a Nighthawk dealer said they would not order it for me, George gave me a good price and great communication. Michael |

Wow, thats quite a long time! I had no idea that it took that long?? I have a pistol being worked on now by them, just upgrades and was told by Greg approx 3wks. Even if it takes longer, no big deal as I'm in no big hurry. I'd rather just have them do the work and take their time to do a great job!
