I did a web search using "Startpage HTTPS" - it anonymizes google search results. I used the search words: trade Springfield EMP 1911

I was originally thinking I might want to trade my EMP 1911 .40 for the 9mm version. Still thinking about that.

I started doing 1911 research online, just out of curiosity, found a couple in my price range, and looked up reviews. Google linked me here, so... Next thing i know, i'm a member here, and looking for a 1911 still, but i have experience in some General gun matters, which i will and have share(d). I like to be well informed of things, and since i'm learning and like to be knowledgeable about things, i find being a member allows me to glean more information. Thanks for the awesome forum, I look forward to learning as much as i can before my purchase and look to seem minimal help after, but offer experience.

Greetings from El Cajon, CA!

I found this forum while searching reviews for the RIA 1911 .45 acp. Based on what I read I "pulled the trigger" on a RIA 1911-A1 Tactical. It's my first hand gun and I love it!

I found the site after googling and looking for answers regarding my 1911, and my search for a new single stack for USPSA, and of course my left-handed issues.

I was at a "Gun show" buying Ammo and I was being too picky.....( they had run out of premium Ammo like Cor-bon, Winchester, Federal , Remington 45 acp etc.) the young man behind the booth was trying to sell me a lower grade Ammo not made in the US, so I politely declined and said "I only use Premium in my 1911's" on that note the gent from the Ammo Brothers booth came over and we talked about the amazing 1911's and he directed me to this Forum.

Looking for some answers

My father-in-law gave me his AO 1911 A1 and a Browning Nomad recently. I had heard that the AO's from West Hurley had some quality issues so I started researching it and came across your forum.

Finding Ya

I have been a lover of my 9mm Glocks for many years, but heard about the 1911and that I want to research it out before I got one. I found the 1911 Forum on a Google and been a steady reader ever since. I ended up getting a RIA 1911 9mm and must say it beats the heck out of my Glocks. So for now on my RIA 1911 is the one I use for my concealed carry.

I was searching for opinions on Remington 1911 R1 Enhanced through Google and it linked me to this forum. So now I have a Rem 1911 R1 Enhanced. I like how there is a section for every brand of 1911. Been reading about RIA 1911's I think I'm going to get a loaded one then refinish and customize it, thanks to this forum!

I just searched it out of curiosity in order to find a site for the 1911. I tell everyone I know that has a 1911 about this gem of a site so that they too can enjoy it.

I appreciate what this site offers and thank the owners, supporters and mod's for what we have here.

Noob in New Orleans

Greetings all,
I think I found my way to the forum by searching for SIS in google. I have been reading for months and enjoy the forum, immensely. The posts all seem to be rather courteous and professional. Even when they seem to go off a bit, there seems to be a moderator or senior member to bring it back around. I have enjoyed my stay...and hope to be around a long time. I am quite a lover of 1911s. My first experience was in the 80s at Basic Warrior Trainer. After that did not touch one for years. I favored the HKs and Glocks until I found a Springfield 1911 G.I. model and fell in love. I am currently enjoying shooting several models of Colts, Kimbers, STI, Springfields and a Doublestar. I have yet to see any of the problems I have read about with several thousands rounds through each...hopefully, it will stay that way. I look forward to continuing to learn from all those who have been firing longer than I have...

I was searching in Google for 1911 stuff. I got a Colt 1911 last week. Getting up to date on 1911's. Only shot one, just a magazine full, one time many years ago. Now I have one.

My buddy showed me how much better in every respect my 2 1911's were than my favorite Beretta 92s. I "discovered" that my inherited, mint 70 series GC is a terrific shooter right outta the box, with just a couple new springs to freshen it.

Started doing some research on possible mods and issues like the collet v solid bushing and voila! here I am. Glad to have found this forum.
