I bought mine in January and paid $740. I love it. Wish I had paid less but after waiting for 8 months, I couldn't pass it up.

Well...I was at the gun show today in Mesquite, TX. One dealer had a SR1911. He was asking $899.
![]() I offered him $650. He laughed. It was still for sale when I left the show. Someone that has to have one will probably pay that price for it. Not me. Beautiful gun though... |

The funny thing is, is that I struck up a conversation with one of his employees. While making sure his boss wasn't in earshot he told me "wait 4 months, we'll be selling them at $675".

Oh...and...I did a quick ninja edit. I offered him $650 not $750. Forum member "musc" was quick on the quote.

supply and demand - and vice versa.
my guess is that by next year they'll pretty much be fair traded at well under $700 street price. then i'll buy. |

When I decided on the Ruger, I called probably 6 or 7 dealers over a couple of days. Of those, one had two coming the following week. The other had one coming (which I ended up with). Neither had a wait list but both expected them gone same or next day. This was 3 weeks ago. From this and other recent posts, it seems like supply is atleast starting to catch up. I paid a little under $740 out the door and was ok with that considering I waited only 4 or 5 days from decision to buy to gun in hand. And I ended up with an extra 7 round mag in the deal. when jonesing for a first 1911, hands down my choice was the ruger. after 4 days of scouting i couldn't find one anywhere at any price so i bought a $450 armscor just to get shooting, and it did satisfy. then the remington 1911 caught my eye and i ditched the armscor for an instant remington buy ($620). i don't regret for a second getting the rem, it has it's own look and feel and for me it's a definite keeper. but i also want a ruger for it's series 70 operation and tactical look, and will buy the first one offered at $650, which is a fair enuf price tag. i can wait, i'm happily 1911 flush right now.

I have my ruger 1911 on my wish list with my gun store -Jan. Still not here. I have it on my wish list at guns america -buds n cheaper then dirt. My other gun store has it on order also but he is smart n told me the price will be $650 but has not got any in. He call me last month and said come on in. He showed me a Sig 1911 45 -list $1200 its the Sig sauer scorpion - I spent my money that i was saving for the Ruger. I paid $950 n he gave me a box of bullets n tarage. If any one knows were i can get a ruger 1911 -please tell me.

I've got you ALL beat. Just saw my first one yesterday at a local shop (Muncie Indiana) for the low price of, are you ready, $999! Not sure how, but I managed to keep a straight face and civil tongue until I left the shop.

Wow...$850 is a bit steep. But...as long as you are happy, that's all that matters!

$750 for mine....+ shipping + FFL transfer with local dealer = $789.00.
A little more than I had planned, but I'm satisfied. |

As long as the SR1911 is in short supply, they will command premium prices. If you want one now, and if you have as much problem finding one as I did, you will probably pay in excess of $700. As long as the price is south of $800, you are still getting good value. That's my opinion.
I read that Ruger is not taking any more orders, for any units, until May. They can't produce enough firearms to meet their sales orders. That means high prices! |

Got mine for 650.00 out the door. The place has since been selling them for 750.00 plus tax, due to the demand.

I paid $799+tax for mine which is high but again, they are hard to find. I plan on keeping this gun for life so to me I look at it as an investment.
