So A Guy Walks Into His LGS...

Right then. So I go to my LGS @ lunch time today. What’s in the display case but a Ruger 1911! It’s priced @ $639.00 + tax.

I handle it and decided to not make a decision right away, not in the heat of the moment as it were.

I went back to work. I crumbled @ 2:15pm. I called the LGS (I could hear customers in the background). My dealer and I had this conversation.

LGS: “Gunstore.”

Me: “Hey _ _ _ _ _ it’s _ _ _ _. Do you still have the Ruger 1911?”

LGS: “I do.”

Me: “Put it in the safe.”

LGS: “Okay, bye.”

Me: “Bye.”

Being a ‘Preferred Customer’ does have its advantages!

Guy walks into his local gun store,looks at all the 1911's conversation went like this; HI_______ he says hi_______ still no ruger 1911's your still on the top of the list, it's only been 6 months, see ya________ see ya next week again________....

So the guy put his name on the list for an SR1911 at the LGS last May (#3 on list). His SR1911 came in on Sept 27.

The guy loves the SR1911 and decides to pick up a 2nd one for a spare, so he goes back to the LGS to put is name on the list again.

The LGS is still using the same list from last year. The guy's name is still on the list as "#3" and was crossed off when he picked up his gun.

A couple more names after his have also been "crossed off" the list.

However, the list now fills in the entire front side of the sheet of paper, down to the very bottom line....

....and the nice guy at the LGS turned over the sheet of paper to show that the back side of the paper is filled with names of folks waiting for SR1911's, almost to the bottom line.....

I just picked up my gun!

My LGS told me Lipskys (a wholesaler) had shipped him one gun a few weeks ago. My LGS called Davidsons (another wholesaler) last week and asked them when they would ship him a gun. That's the one I just picked up.

My LGS has had both guns 'on order' since last May.

Just walked in and picked one up at Hoffman's on Friday for $668 + tax. They had a few. Best impulse move I've ever made, except maybe that "free puppy" I accepted years an' years ago.

LGS got 3 in the other day, saw a few at a local gun show, so they are out there.

Usually it's ME that just misses out on a good deal!

But, lately, my luck's been changing for the better!

The trigger out-of-the-box is a very crisp 4-1/4 lb.

My handload: 6.3 Herco, Cast 225 grain LEE TC, Tight Taper-crimp. It shoots this good @ 15 yards.
