New NHC owner
Hello everyone,
Wilson or Nighthawk... well... it was a hard decision. Here the results: An Enforcer. I didn't like the G10 grips and ordered a new dress from Esmeralda. ![]() ![]() To be alone is sad. A black Lady was the perfect girlfriend for the Enforcer. ![]() ![]() These are my first custom 1911. I can only say: WOW ![]() Really happy. Also because it was not easy to get these gems. Is the 1911 an addiction? I just ordered a new one... ![]() But it's not a NHC... PS: Same NHC 1911 pictures posted in the picture thread. Last edited by Birdy; 04-02-2012 at 02:51 AM. |

Nice work!
You really couldn't have gone wrong with either WC or NHC, so it's a win,win and a win, win. Great pair of slick black beauties! |

Birdy,
Nice pair of birdy's you got there. ![]() Yes, the 1911 creates a weird addiction and a funny tingling sensation.....at least for me. Enjoy those Hawks!

Anyone ever tell you, you have a nice Heinie sir? I kid but those are two great looking pistols. Enjoy and post a range report for us.

I tend to prefer Sarges grips on your Enforcer. Those Esmeraldas would look great on a stainless gun. Nice 1911's!

I was inspired by a member's picture posted in the Ed Brown forum. I was only a little bit luckless because there is a repaired "void" in my maple burl grips. |

Small range report
I was so excited to try both pistols, that I forgot my Canon at home...
it was my first time shooting a custom 1911. Great expectations. I have a number of revolvers/pistols already (standard 1911 included) and have been shooting for some years. Started with 10 yards, then 20, then 25. The Enforcer was the first one to be tested. About 300 rounds. No issues at all! Tried everything: one hand, two hands, left hand, standing, kneeing, lying, with light, at dark with LED light, fast shooting, etc... Was very satisfied. The Enforcer is a lot more accurate than I am able to shoot. So, a plenty of space for me to improve. Good chances to be my #2 in my human-pistol-symbiosis. #1 is a Smith & Wesson Performance Center 952 (divine trigger and sights). With the Lady Hawk it was another story. One hand, everything looks good. Two hands, everything grouped low/left. Still working on this... Nevertheless, very fast one hand shooting with it (her) is a pleasure. 9 mm is also dirty cheap to shoot. 500 rounds. Same tests as with the Enforcer. No issues with the pistol. It has been a very good day. Next time, I will take some pictures. Last edited by Birdy; 02-27-2012 at 12:46 PM. |

Congrats on the new pistolas! Very, very sharp. 2 of my favorite models. I have an Enforcer, and would like any of the Henies. Did you order your Enforcer, or find it at a store/online? It appears as though you have an Enforcer with the integrated mag well, which is a plus! |

Every new Enforcer includes the new fully machined one piece mainspring housing / magwell (similar to the one on the Falcon, but with a lanyard loop). I love this look. <<< later note - my Enforcer has the the integrated magwell, not the new "one piece" >>> You will see, all other semi-custom shops will copy that. I think Wilson already started (?). The Lady Hawk was customized: - Black finish with stainless steel controls (standard is titanium blue finish). - Aluminum frame upgrade. - Fluted barrel. Weight is 31 oz.

The flutted barrel on the LadyHawk is a really nice touch. I need to get that done on one of my 1911's.

Are you absolutely sure? That sure looks like the integrated magwell, just like on my Enforcer. Why else would there be a seam with the MSH, if it's all one piece? If you look at the well portion separately, follow the steel of the well up the side of the frame. See any seams? Probably an integrated well. NH changed from the integrated well to the 1 piece a few months ago. I'd bet that not many have rolled off the production line with the new 1 piece yet. Either way, awesome gun! ![]()

Great pic's Birdy! Love those grip shots...What Canon are you shooting with? Additionally, you have a pretty good regimen you put the pistols through. At the range I shoot they would never let shoot in those positions, they might make an exception if nobody else was using the rifle area that you could change your positions and shoot prone. They're really strict, probably with good reasons, I'd take being safe than sorry any day. Enjoy your NH!

Nothing special, only a Canon EOS 450D. Before I upload the pictures, I remove all metadata from the files. The quality is lousy because I had to scale them down to XGA. The originals are up to 4272 × 2848 pixel. It's a kind of private indoor range (not belonging to me!). I rent it one afternoon every week and I am alone there (or with friends). As long I don't shoot on the wall/floor/ceiling, I can do whatever I want (but only revolver & pistols are allowed). There is also some stuff to build a combat course. Here is a picture of this room (~30x10 yards)

Indeed no.
![]() It was produced 09/2011 and the advertising for the one piece mainspring housing / magwell is there since spring 2011. Actually, it was announced with the Falcon at the Shot Show 2011. But unfortunately, you're absolutely right. Carefully looking at the Falcon announcement video, I've seen this:

That is a Caspian frame. They are a very high quality cast frame with an integrated magwell and plunger tube. These frames are well known to be extremely durable. The same as my 2008 Enforcer seen below minus the rail:
