A Great Gift
My wife and I will be celebrating our 11 year wedding anniversary next week. The 11th year is traditionaly the "steel" year, meaning you give your partner a gift made out of steel.
When I got home last night my wife gave me my gift. ![]() She has great taste and had no idea I have wanted this knife since I was a teenager. It is a great addition to my modest collection. ![]() I have never bought myself a knife most of mine have been gifts and have a memory behind them. My friend got the Ruana used at a pawn shop and gave it to me the day before he was killed in a logging accident. The brass Kershaw was a christmas gift from a former boss. The Gerber (my EDC) was given to me by the same friend who passed away as a Christmas present about 18 years ago. I found the Double bladed Old Timer on a fishing trip with my grandpa when I was 12 years old. I know my collection is rather small and not all super high end knifes, but they all get used and mean a lot to me so I thought I would share with you guys. Knives are indeed very personal items. It is wonderful that your collection has such meaning to you.
Congrats on your anniversary!
