Hello from Texas

Hey guys, Im Dennis, new to the forum. I live in Texas, just graduated from Texas Tech with a degree in Music Education and Performance. Currently looking across the state for jobs as a middle or high school band director. Im a sax player for anyone interested, mostly a Jazz player, but I still have some classical chops left in me.

Ive owned several 1911's over the years, unfortunately my older colts were stolen a few years back.

Currently I own (in the 1911 family) a Springfield loaded A1 5" Stainless, and a Colt government series 70. (Newer reproduction)

Here within the next two weeks I will be making my next 1911 purchase in the form of a new carry gun, so I will be hitting up the different areas on the forum for opinions. Right now I am leaning towards the Kimber Pro CDPII. (Govt Grip/Officer Barrel) Also looking at the Colt Defender in the 9mm. I think ill end up getting them both within the next few months, question is which do I want to entrust my life to? hmmm....

I currently am self employed working private construction on everything from fencing, to decks, cabinets, and high end equipment cases for sound gear. I also teach private saxophone lessons.

I think that about covers it, lookin forward to reading through everything that the forum has to offer.

-Dennis
