We moved out here to Boonieville back in Nov of '94. Haven't had a trick or treater since.

Course, . . . I ain't sure I would want to go back that 600 foot gravel driveway to that dark lookin house anyway if I was a kid. Maybe wouldn't want a Snickers bar that bad.

May God bless
Dwight

Whew! got through another year without any misc. psycho attack. There were a couple of 13-14 year old trick or treaters that I felt like slamming to the ground though. I love the look in their eyes when you tell them to "get lost, I don't hand out candy to people taller than me".

Ah yes. Ruining the holiday for children is such fun.

I answered the door with the 1911 on my hip (openly - thank you Wisconsin).

I only had one kid comment, probably about 12 years old. He asked what kind of gun it was and I replied "A real one" He then asked if it really was a real gun and a I said "What good would it be if it wasn't?" I could see the wheels spinning in his head as he contemplated that statement and then said "Good point!"

I did not have to shoot any zombies this year.

Well you wont have to worry about any trick or treaters next year. I'm surprised you didn't preform some tactical quick draws for him also.

Well I carried a Glock 22 and wore a vest.

But if one of the kids had seen it and asked if it was real; I would have said heck no it was just a Tupperware replica.

We live in a very friendly neighborhood and have a good time handing out treats - no problem and Charley is a favorite - I really think some kids come to see him as much as for the treats we give out.

My special precaution on Holloween is I take some Tums, because I always eat too much candy that night.

You must have some pretty bad kids in your neighborhood.

We would welcome that - Charley and I have never met a stranger and we're friends with everybody -

We love Halloween and generally have dozens of great kids, with parental escort looking-on, trooping to the door. I keep our ancient cats in the house, however, and have a Kobra Carry as part of my costume.

There has been an increase of home invasions in Albuquerque. In my neighborhood, which is a nice area, there were two that ended in death for the home owners.

Knowing this I carry my 1911 with two extra magazines, and put the carbine somewhere easily accessible to adults, usually just a mag in with 1 in the chamber on safety.

That way if I cant stop the threat someone can pick up the carbine and stop it.

Halloween is always time for the thugs to try and get one over 'round here. We usually patrol in plain clothes and nab many of them in the act.

Of course I have to be the "cup bearer" and try out all candy before my daughter has any It's one of those horrible duties of being a parent If we are not doing anything that night (like taking my daughter to the grandparents) then I will pass out the candy and be on the steps in a chair. I didn't have my CCL last year so did not carry, but would this year if I did not go to my parents.

See! Your tactics are all wrong! You would be dead! Everyone knows it's silver for the lycanthopes and wood stakes for the blood suckers. Lead is fine for zombies, but you have to use a head shot.

Just saying...

good thing you cleared that up, could have been disastrous. i mean really, who is gonna try and drive a stake into 600 lbs of PO'd man/wolf?

i took my girls trick or treating, i didnt carry since i didnt have my lisence yet but my wife followed close by in the car (where my gun was located)
