SIG 220 Match Elite

Just curious if there are any forum members here with a 220 Match or Match Elite? If so- How does it shoot compared to a 1911?

The trigger doesn't compare, get that TRP you've been lusting.

The 1911 compared to the 220 Sig is not apples and oranges, more like oranges and tangerines.
The 220's trigger is very nice and crisp, but somewhat different than a 1911. The average 220 Match will out shoot your average factory 1911's as far as accuracy, and will equal some custom 1911's.
The only difference is the way you perceive the way the gun feels in your hand. Most people like or love the way the 220 feels in hand, some dislike it greatly. Make sure you can wrap a sweaty paw around one before you commit.

Sigs are awesome. They are very accurate out of the box. The Elites ooze quality. I have one on layaway now.

TRUST me a TRP will be in my future.... But I do love my 3 Sig 220s' & when the Elite came out...well....I just had to know..... if the Match could at least keep up with the 1911.

Oh, yeah I'd like to have a sig too, but if its one or the other

The single action pull on the sig I shot was much longer than a 1911, smooth-but long. It also had a noticably long reset IMO. Great quality and accuracy though.

My elite has a short reset trigger. Very nice. My Les Baer has a great trigger too. There just different. I wanted a top of the line modern combat 45 to go with my tricked out 1911 Les Baer. I would not hesitate to trust my life to either, but the nod would go to the Sig for strictly combat duty. The adjustable iron sights on the Baer don't do as well for fast target aquisition.

If anyone knows SIG - this gun was made in small quantities...I played with a 220 Match Elite. Nice. But not even CLOSE to a 1911.....Oh well...
