Martlet,

You might not find many reviews of my belts as I have not sold many since I started making them. But since you are looking high and low for a gun belt for the past few days, I'll send you one for your personal review before you buy.

Let me know:

1. Your measurement in inches from buckle post to hole used when carring concealed inside the waistband.

2. Color (same as your holster order? Cordovan)

3. Width (same as your holster order? 1.5")

If it meets your requirements, you can pay me for it. If not, you can send it back and not be out anything. I'll send it with your holster.

You can email me with your answer or reply here.

Have I been that much of a pain in the butt lately? Now I'm slightly embarrassed. I don't know squat about gun belts and I've only used CrossBreed Holsters. I decided it was time to try something new, so I probably asked too many questions. At the same time, I can't afford to shell out the 100+ bucks many of the holster/belt makers charge. Unless, of course, Congress decides to radically increase the Army pay scale.

That being said, you've made an offer I can't refuse. My current belt size while carrying IWB is 40". That's measuring from the tip of the post to the hole used. Beyond that, this belt is for specific use with your holster, so cordovan and 1.5" is good.

Thanks so much!

Here is a quick review for ya. I just received my belt and holster from Tom and it is of excellent quality and value. The belt is very well made with a smooth, even color throughout. I've been wearing a Galco belt for awhile now and I am definitly going to like the way Tom skivs down the toungue of his belts. You will be hard pressed to beat this belt and definitly at this price. Tom even beat his quoted turnaround time by a week. I'll keep this on the thread's topic, but as you can see the holster rocks too.

Nice setup,,, I like how low the gun sits
on the belt... Most holsters nowadays sit
to high on the belt for my likeing... That
seems to push the butt of the gun away
from the body,,, at least for my body
shape...

Do you have a link to his site ???

Thanks,,,

Low Ride

I too like how the holster sits a bit lower. Can anyone who has worn one comment on this? Does the holster wear low as it appears from the pictures?

Thanks,

Mike

Tom, them are some nice holsters and belts. I will pass the word around to my friends. I haven't ordered a custom carry combo since the last vendor told me he didn't have a hide big enough to go around me.

I does indeed ride nice and low. With most of the weight of a 3 inch barrel 1911 being in the grip area, I wanted something that rode low to help stabilize the gun. That is a problem I have with my Yaqui OWB and this gun, there is not enough barrel and slide to balance the weight and that makes the grip want to flop around. I also wanted something without a reinforced mouthband to make it as thin as possible for summer carry. This combo seems like it's going to work very well for it's intended purpose.

I missed the shipment yesterday, so I picked up the belt/holster first thing this morning at the Post Office. Since I was off duty today, I immediately put it on and wore it all day.

Granted, I have no experience with a gun belt, but I have plenty with holsters. In short, all I can say is "wow".

First the look. There isn't a blemish on it. The color and finish are perfect. The quality is excellent. It's dressy enough to wear every day, even if you aren't carrying. What a pretty belt.

So then I put it on. I tried it with my CrossBreed and Sig P220 first. I love that holster, and the belt made it more comfortable than it's ever been. No sag. Kept snug. It made a great holster that much better. I can't believe I've been carrying without this belt for so many years.

Just by picking up the holster, I could tell it was going to be a dream. The holster was sturdy, and my S&W fit like a glove. I had a little trouble getting the snaps seated well at first. The fit is so good it needs to break in a little. I swapped out my CB and Sig for the SH and 5" S&W. I wore it for the next 9 hours. Honestly, after taking it off tonight I had a hard time believing I'd worn it all day. The belt supported the weight incredibly well, and the holster held the butt in close. I also learned one of the added benefits of a sturdy holster on a supportive belt was the ability to easily adjust the position inconspicuously while it's on.

In short, a great holster, a great belt, and a great price. The great shipping time and incredible customer service is just icing on the cake.

The wait is killing me!

Waiting for the belt and mag pouch I ordered on 25 April is killing me! It's worse than waiting for Christmas. I'm not trying to rush you Tom, I'm just drooling over all the nice holsters and belts everyone is posting! Keep up the pictures! I'll just have to settle for them until mine arrives

The wait is over!

It was well worth the wait. It took 4 weeks almost to the day, (I ordered on 25 April and received it on 26 May!) Here is a quick review of Tom's belt and mag pouch:

I received them yesterday and am very impressed. The color is even on both. The belt is 1.5" wide and the holes are exactly .75 inches apart. It is .25" thick. The buckle and keeper are solid brass. The belt is stiff but still comfortable to wear.

The magazines fit the pouch tight, but I'm sure it will loosen up with use. The loops fit his belt perfectly. I would like to see the belt slots slightly wider so the belt could conform to my body a little better. It will work as is but will take a while to break in the belt

Here are a couple of pictures. The holster is a Milt Sparks HRT-LTD. The fit and finish of the belt and pouch match the holster! Did I say the belt is stiff? I set the combo down and it stood up with the pistol in the holster!

All in all a nice set. I will buy from him again.

Thanks Tom for the excellent products.

Southern Holsters made me one for my 340PD

I am currently using one of these holsters for my S&W 340PD. It is very well made, fair priced, and very quick service. I an very happy with my purchase.
