Marines are switching back
Maybe you have all seen this already, probably even posted here on this forum. But I saw this and was reminiscent. I remember when they took the 1911's away from us and made us Qual with the Beretta. After carrying the 1911, I hated the switch. It will be a nice switch back for my fellow jarheads.

Soon everyone will wise up to the fact that the 1911's are the best guns ever made.

Wow - great link. I've been keeping up with the various MEUSOC/M45 variations for some time, and now I'm rooting for the Colt. Regardless, since the contenders are all similar and based on production models, we'll be able to clone this pistol very easily for ourselves. Plus, any maker might produce a version for the general market since the basic design/formula has become popular over the last ten years or so. Watch sales of 'rail guns' from all 1911 makers spike when this version is adapted.

Wish all of our armed forces would switch to a 1911 in 45acp! Maybe we would see some mil surplus 45 floating around on the cheap!

Just a matter of time until the entire armed forces dumps the Baretta 92-F. In fact they will be getting this real soon, which will make the S.O. teams shun the 1911:

Had I known this was coming, I would not have gotten so old and fat so I could have re-upped.

It isn't POTUS that did it. There is a requirement in government purchase contracts to go with the low bidder, if all specifications are met.

You do know that all their guns are made in US right? Last time I heard some of the US companies were having things made over seas. FN also already makes at least 70% of small arms for us.

When Hell freezes over a complete change till then only a select few are going to be issued 1911 style pistols.
