Marines are switching back

Maybe you have all seen this already, probably even posted here on this forum. But I saw this and was reminiscent. I remember when they took the 1911's away from us and made us Qual with the Beretta. After carrying the 1911, I hated the switch. It will be a nice switch back for my fellow jarheads.

Wow - great link. I've been keeping up with the various MEUSOC/M45 variations for some time, and now I'm rooting for the Colt. Regardless, since the contenders are all similar and based on production models, we'll be able to clone this pistol very easily for ourselves. Plus, any maker might produce a version for the general market since the basic design/formula has become popular over the last ten years or so. Watch sales of 'rail guns' from all 1911 makers spike when this version is adapted.

Yep, I can believe this if the current POTUS has his way...... Send more of our money overseas instead of supporting US Companies.

It isn't POTUS that did it. There is a requirement in government purchase contracts to go with the low bidder, if all specifications are met.

There used to be a Buy American Act as part of awarding Government contracts. Until that lying cheating Clinton signed NAFTA.

You do know that all their guns are made in US right? Last time I heard some of the US companies were having things made over seas. FN also already makes at least 70% of small arms for us.

And that Springfield makes everything in Brazil and assembles here. Kinda sucks. I don't love Colt's, but I believe they make everything here which is pretty cool.

I have an fnx9 but for some reason my 1911 always finds my hip. They make nice guns. Still hard to beat 1911 platform

FYI, the Special Operations don't opt for the 1911 merely because it's a .45 ACP.
