We now have a Battlefield 3 platoon
I created a platoon on Battlelog to help us get together to play easier. The link is below. If the link doesn't work just click on platoons and search for 1911 Forum. Just apply with your forum username and I'll approve it after I make sure you're on the forum. If I can I'll add a few more people from the forum to help manage the whole deal if this thing takes off like I hope it does.

I'm a noob to the game. I applied anyway and would welcome the chance to learn from others here on how a squad is really suppose to communicate and work together. I get tired of having my arse handed to me

Ill say this. if we can get a couple squads, based on play last night, we'll be able to coordinate and provide cover. this has potential to be pretty darn good.

I also took the liberty of making my Platoon Tag (1911). I hope this is approved by the platoon leader. If not, let us know what our tag is going to be.

This thread is now a sticky in the hopes that we can attract more of our 1911Forum Brothers and Sisters to the game and perhaps begin to dominate some matches and elevate the Platoon as well as this fine forum.

No worries the guys I usually play with are still stuck on COD and I'd much rather play with people I knew. I'm glad it's so well received. The 1911 tag is fine Fin, I'm not worried about something being okay or not as far as the platoon. If you're on the forum, you're in the platoon as long as you want to be in it. I'm just the guy that created it, I'm not a mafia don or something. I played with sniper30850 last night and aside from getting my keister whipped by the other team it was good fun. I'll be on again tonight, hook up a headset if you have one

Given the amount of PC and PS3 guys you can create a separate platoon just for PC but I'm pretty sure you can join a platoon regardless of platform. For example, I'm in the Machinima Respawn Platoon with RickyFTW, Adam Kovic, Matt Danevik, Sark, all them and a lot of those guys only play on PC

Actually I play more on Xbox now, it just seems like most of the organized players I meet play on PC. I need to get a better way to connect to Xbox Live, right now I'm running an ethernet from my Xbox to my laptop. It works, but lags a bit. Just don't feel like paying Microsoft $100 just for a wireless adapter.

No worries, Join the platoon and play when you can. Looks like 50 online for the adapter, but a local game trade place should have one pretty cheap. Might be able to dump a game or tow and ten bucks to get one
