Need Some Direction
I am thinking about starting to shoot in some IDPA competitions this month and was needing some suggestions. I currently carry a Beretta PX4 Storm 40S&W, could I use this in competition? I have read over a few boards and havent heard of anyone using this model gun in any sort of competition and i was just wondering if I could use or if i should use it. I was hoping to be able to use what i have to get my feet wet before upgrading. Also what type belt/holster should i look to buy and how many mags will i need?

1 mag for the gun and 2 spares. Wilderness / instructor belts are popular but use what you have. I'm not sure about the holster rules anymore but blade tech would work. If you have a safe holster that covers the trigger guard you should be good to go.

Thanks for the info. So you think my Beretta will be fine just to get me started?

Your Beretta will be fine.
Take a look over the IDPA rulebook before you go any further.

Shoot with what you have for the first year, then you will know what you need.

What kind of holster do you have right now? If it is a strong side OWB or IWB, chances are it is legal if it is a carry holster. One double mag pouch or two singles is perfect for IDPA. Just use the ones you use for carry. Buy different ones later if you want to upgrade.
