Introduction
Hello to all
I am a shooter collector of early American firearms. I also custom build early American firearms. I know that is a far apart from most on this site but just wanted to give that info. The reason that I am here is I have an opportunity to pick up a Colt National Match pistol and when I Googled it I found this site. I liked the looks of this site so I thought I would join and see if you all could help me with the dating and possible value of this NM. All the sites I have been to looking at ser. numbers have left me a little confused. This pistol does not have "Gold Cup" on it. It has National Match Colt automatic 45 cal with little stars before and after the words National Match. I know this is a pre 70 series but I am not sure if it is pre WWII or post WWII. It is factory nickle with adustable sights, ser #310xx-NM. I think the info I found dates this to 1958 but I think all the 1957 and later pistols are marked "GOLD CUP National Match" so that is where I am confused. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks |
