Ruger Pricing Poll
This is just a feeling that several people are getting,,maybe wrong but,,do you think that this SR1911, since it is so very hot right now,no other pistol has generated this much hype,,will jump up in price in just a very short time, the price on the auctions is 700, plus msrp is 799,,all the dealers that recieved a few are all sold out,, just asking

Like anything else...
It depends on:
I expect they will hang around their entry price if it works for them and later bring out "higher grade" models with higher price tags if the public seems amenable to that. I think they will work on building their customer base for a year or so prior to raising prices. Keep in mind, if gas keeps going up, the price will rise due to that but only on a percentage basis.

No, the price should come down. Some people are, stupidly, paying WAY too much for it right now.

You really believe that? The price on things that go boom doesn't go down anymore.

![]() Products are driven by demand. Once the initial demand for a highly HYPED gun subside, the prices stabilize. This 1911 is a nice pistol for the price point, but it isn't the "end all,be all"that everybody is making it out to be. It's another 1911 that is mass produced. Brown,Baer,Wilson,Guncrafters and the other top tier builders aren't losing sleep over this offering. Now Kimber on the other hand.... ![]() DAT85 Last edited by DAT85; 05-21-2011 at 09:16 PM. |
