Since this topic hasn't been opened yet, I'll show everyone what I found online this morning......it appears that FN is now going to be selling an AR15 in 16 and 20 inch versions to the public. The following link will give more information: http://www.thefirearmblog.com/blog/2014/01/12/fn-announces-selling-fn-15-public/
I'm not excited about the FN. Like Remington, and UNlike Colt, they will not be able to build their rifles the same as their military rifles. They can not use the TDP info to build the commercially available rifles.
Now, it's possible they'll build them to just as high quality, time will tell.
We didn't get pics but these aren't worth it. Base models (we were told) are around $1,100 and were some cause of pause on the display guns. Action binding, no staking, etc. We heard mixed stories on barrels too...not sure if they're hammer forged.
That rep gave next to no information about the rifle other than it's "patterned" after the M4 and M16. He said the difference will be in quality but what kind of quality? I dunno, I'm not sold.
The freaking charging handle was binding and the anodizing was wearing off. Just a shoddy rifle for the price. Carbine buffer, no staking, etc.
