i fondled two brand new E series at the dealer a couple of weeks ago.... surprise surprise surprise.... i think S&W had finally fixed their thumb safeties. One of them will be mine next month.:)

Got one of those all black E series on hold today......can't pick it up until next month though(quota).
Just between you and me, the current E series coming out from S&W are amazingly well made.

I've shot more than half a dozen new Sig1911s over the years and they all had super tight chambers and tight extractor tension. I am not talking about shooting reloads here, had FTRB with expensive...

those German grips are pretty hefty (1.38")...

those German grips are pretty hefty (1.38") comparing to the thin wood grips on my Kimber CII (1.08") but actually quite manageable and comfy.
