All it took was a chamber reaming, a new guide rod, and a stiffer recoil spring. It's an excellent shooter. The pistol is lightly engraved 9mm on the slide, but you have to hold it just right in the light to even see this cartridge designation. Of course I know this pistol is now chambered for 9x23Win, but my concern is that many years from now someone will not realize this. So, I'd like to have the part of the barrel that shows through the ejection port engraved. As you can see from the picture above, this is a rounded surface. I'd like to end up with something like this:

I want it to look like it was professionally done at the factory. For those who have had similar work done, who would you recommend for a job like this?

For those of you who have ordered or are thinking of ordering from Dillon, I can share my timeline for back order status. Ordered a Square Deal on April 12 and it arrived on Wednesday. Still waiting on everything else (dvd, scale, strong mount, etc.).
I am waiting on the strong mount to assemble it, but it looks like quality equipment and my first impression is its been worth the wait.
I saw some RCBS and Hornady presses at Cabelas and was tempted to walk out with one (I did get a Hornady tumbler) but the Dillon is here and looking forward to starting reloading. Hope the other equipment comes in soon.
I picked up a bunch of brass I was shooting at the range. The guys next to me was shooting .45ACP as well, and I walked out with about 250 rounds of brass. I was feeling like I hit the jackpot. Get home and find out its the small federal primers (damn! lol).

Any suggestions on a highly visible- easily acquired sight ( tritium a +)...

I know RIA dove tails are cut a bit deeper then the normal 075 so I will be seeking a smith to do install also, not looking for a cheap solution, gun shoots 3' low at 7 yards and needs to be replaced ASAP. Any help with front sight manufacturer and a shop to send slide to would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you for your guidance.

Hi, I've finally broken down and will no longer be using my V16 Longslide as my carry gun for all of the obvious reasons. I just ordered a holster for a full size 1911 (5" barrel) for concealed carry. I'm looking for a reliable, accurate Springfield with non-adjustable (except possible for drift) sights, preferably tritium in 45 ACP. Right now I'm looking at the stainless loaded with fixed three dot tritium sights and the similar TRP model. Any recommendations or things to watch out for appreciated. After carrying my long slide for over a decade, a steel full size 1911 will feel like a compact ... :)

Hey guys,
I looked in search, Im here because I don't want to clutter up the other thread categories.
I have a custom "Bullseye" gun on another thread that I want to make a presentation case for.
An FFL friend of mine provided a well worn 1982 Smith&Wesson case that he had. No interior.
Here's my dilemma. Should I "form fit" or "French fit" the case?
If I decide to form fit, how do I cut the foam so that I can install whatever velvet, or felt, or whatever.
Should the pistol lay on it's right side, or left side? Do you guys know of any threads on this? So many questions!
The case is really pretty, and the pistol spends most of it's time in the safe, but I think it would be neat to have a presentation case for a custom built revolver.
I'm a nuube here, but I'm really enjoying this forum. We all seem to enjoy the same things....Thanks, Mike

I got good groups, 6-8in at 25 yards, but the groups were about a foot high, even with a 6 o'clock hold. Even with the target sights bottomed out, it brought it down a tad but still really high. I'm sure I can get a taller front sight blade right? Or can a different load make a difference? This was my first time shooting a BP revolver so I'm leaning on you guys experience here! All of my reading indicated a good load was that projectile over 30gr but there was room for more and common thought/experience is that you can't over charge a ROA with BP. Thoughts?
